Ball Don't Lie - NBA

NBC suits tried their damndest to prevent us from seeing replays of Rudy Fernandez's monster dunk over Dwight Howard during the second half of Sunday's Olympic gold medal game, but, as always, the Internets win. Here it is, with some colorful Spanish commentary to boot.

So NBC are player haters, are they??? And maybe anyone else but me recognized that Spains Jerseys showed first names instead of last names of the players. At least Rudy's. Nice one for Rudy. Like maybe in "Rudy Rudy Rudy Rudaaay"?

I'm not really feeling the Giant comments. Make Yahoo! change it back, Skeets. You've got influence, right?

FYI Kolby is the cause of the dunck if watch closely. He went for the steal and allowed Judy to have the lane.

rudy fernandez has tremendous upside in my opinion, well, steve kerr, the worst gm ever, strikes again. [portland got rudy in a 2007 trade that landed the blazers james jones (who's solid and was a crucial role player in phoenix)]

eh? im not a hater or anything but this isnt really a "monster" dunk.. he kind of went around dwight... the description gave me the impression that he went straight onto dwight and dunked OVER him. haha nice dunk tho.. hope the blazers get ricky rubio (how? i dont know).. then theyll own the nba for the next decade.

He also traveled. that's why Dwight was not expecting him to get from the three point line to the basket without dribbling - you can see that Dwight clearly expected a jumpshot or pass when Rudy palmed the ball at the three point line.

Judy Fernandez will be the next *bust* thing in the nba and the one they call Rubio will play at least 1 minute/game when the team is leading by 30-40 pts..

He did NOT travel. It was a defensive breakdown by Kobe. He went for the steal and didn't get it. Rudy Fernandez is pretty athletic and anytime you take a chance like that against an athletic player that can get to the rim, the result is someone being on a "poster." NBC is not a bunch of haters. Throughout the whole Olympics there weren't many replays of good moves until half time or after the game. There are less stoppages in play in international games so there is less time to show replays. Great move by Rudy but he fouled out the game and that was bigger than his dunk on Howard.

    @ bass
This is without doubt the nastiest dunk you will ever see in a 15 FOOT VICINITY of Dwight Howard in international play, ever, lol. Some people are hard to please...
My favorite part of the clip is right before they cut away w/ the ring-logo screen wipe --- if you watch closely, you can see Fernandez stare Howard down, lol
If I was coach K, I would have made Howard give back his medal and accept a bronze on the basis of that one play!

He traveled!! look @ 0:06.. the last dribble was on the 3 pt line.. then he went for 3 steps.. it just dont look obviously since it was the usual drive to the left.. Nice Dunk.. but still he "traveled"...

#24, i was under the impression that the 3rd step is alright as long as you jump off of it to take the shot...i see lebron do it a lot so maybe it is a travel and no one ever calls it.
