Way back in November, rookie center Timofey Mozgov(notes), then property of the Knicks and now an employee of Russian squad Khimki Moscow, was thoroughly obliterated by Blake Griffin just when last season's Rookie of the Year was starting to prove that he was far from a flash in the pain. It was perhaps Griffin's most memorable of the season, apart from the dunk contest, and a play we won't forget anytime soon.
That means we'll associate it with Mozgov, too. So it was nice to see the big man get some measure of revenge in a friendly tuneup against Lithuania for this year's EuroBasket. The Mozzer runs the floor on the fast break, cuts to the hoop, and unloads right at the rim. It is the stuff that highlight videos are made of.
Sadly, we won't see Mozgov on our shores for at least one more year. If and when, he returns to the NBA, maybe he can show Blake Griffin(notes) what he's learned.
