We had some fun with the 2010 rookie photo shoot. Similarly, the rookies had some fun at the 2010 rookie photo shoot. Our fun was having some laughs about their silly pictures. Their fun was throwing an impromptu dunk contest capped off by a between-the-legs 360 courtesy of the Detroit Pistons' Terrico White(notes). Pretty much the same thing.
Check it out and stay for the thrilling conclusion.
Yeah, that's good — really good. Like, would have won last season's dunk contest good.
In fact, if you were to ask me, combining tricks is the next frontier for the dunk contest. You see it in skateboarding and snowboarding all the time, where guys take a trick that's already pretty common and add it to another standard move to create something new and amazing. The Team Flight Brothers guys have been doing this for years, but outside of doing normal dunks after throwing the ball off the floor, it's not happening in the NBA.
Enough about the future of the NBA dunk contest though, let's just all watch this video over and over and be amazed that dunking like this is a leisure activity for this year's rookies. If Tony Allen(notes) has taught us anything, it's that dunking when totally unneccessary is generally a pretty good move.
