Ball Don't Lie - NBA

After witnessing Craig Sager's, ahem, dance moves in Orlando last night, Gary Payton challenges Kenny Smith to a good ol' fashioned dance-off over this year's NBA All-Star weekend. At least, I think that's what GP said; I had trouble understanding some of those higher-pitched sounds.

Two quick questions:

1) What does Billy Zane think about all this?
2) When is Webber going to challenge Tom Gugliotta to a dance-off and/or fight?

Why does Sager towards the end try to "back it up" onto the male dancer?

Upon further notice why does GP's face look like a dog trying to blow smoke out the side of it's mouth?

What is wrong with Payton's speech? That's the better question. I think about 80% of America can't understand that man. He and Shannon Sharpe should have a linguistic-off.

I feel bad for Ernie. He has no clue what is happening that entire segment. Although, he plays the straight man character pretty, pretty well.

The best part of the Kenny-Gary arguments was Webber's points-per-30 shots assessment. Gary knows he was better than Kenny in every aspect of the game, but this and Kenny's gloating upset him. He's a competitor, and that's why he's challenging Kenny to a dance off now. Funny stuff.

i just love that these guys are our color commentators now. i wish i had these guys sharing the mic with marv and costas when i was a kid instead of doug collins and isaiah and matt goukas and hubie brown. it would've made all those bulls finals games even better to watch.

Chris F are you serious? Listening to these guys is like fingernails on a chalkboard, me and my friends used to love watching Barkley, Kenny, and Ernie at 1/2....now we just switch the channel until the game is back on. Its really not Webber either, its just Gary Payton could possibly be the most f'in annoying person on the face of the planet.

Why are there comments concerned about another man's physical appearance. Do you all suffer from insecurity issues, or ya'll just enjoy the male anatomy?

Gary Payton is terrible....They need to get Charles back. I really looked forward to Kenny and Charles. This group is not working for me. Chris and Kenny don't like each other and it is distracting. Bring back the good ole days.

Oh my. Gary Payton.....loves to be seen and HEARD. He TALKED OVER EVERYONE for the entire show. As well all would like to know, what the hell is he saying most of the time??? The ghetto fab suit needs to go too Gary.
Webber is not bad at all. He has a lot of thoughtful insight to add to the show. For that matter, Magic Johnson can't half talk most of the time too!! Why did Magic leave TNT of ESPN/ABC?? Why did Hubbie Brown leave as well??
Chuck, we miss you! I hope you will learn a lesson from this, because you do have a true fan base, a big heart, and you're very talented.

Seriously, I wish Hubie Brown called every single NBA game and did all half time analysis. I love hearing his mantra's about going straight to the front of the rim, and going strong with two hands, not one, TWO.

Bring Charles back??? Man, I'm so glad he's taking a leave of absence! Charles is annoying, never wants to talk basketball, hates the highlights, and his basic schtick is pick on ernie. He's a bore. The show is so much better without him. I think Webber to stay on permanently! He's funny, insightful, and he actually talks about basketball.

Haha ! well Gary was by far the best player of anyone sitting at that desk and i guess he is going to be the biggest talker ... he always WAS anyways ! when he used to say to mahmoud abdul-rauf "cmon chris" ... his trash talking on the court could often bring the best out of opposing guards occassionally tho as i remember Nick Van Exel lighting him up with 3 pointers many times as they both score 30+ ... i can see how he could annoy some people and i get worried that its only a matter of time before he says something out of line ... hes already said LOTS haha !
i think its good that GP is bringing a bit of a lunatic psycho edge to the show that is so straight and fake and not very funny most of the time ... i think Gary just likes challenging people being one of the greatest competitors the NBA has ever seen ... anyone remember his argument with Dwayne Wade in Game 4 of the first round against the Bulls and everyone said bad things bout GP the next day ... but from that point on miami clicked and Wade grew into the closest thing to Jordan in the NBA Finals we have seen ... Gary was the one that was tough enough to look down on Wade and tell him "you can be way better kid" !
hey and Kenny Smith you may have two rings and you hit a few threes while Hakeem won 2 championships for you and Houston while Jordan was taking a break from basketball ... your Houston teams and title wins were great things ... but GP never stole a ring on his way out, i remember him hitting two late shots in Game 3 & 5 of the NBA finals with Miami ... thats pretty impressive and clutch i think Kenny !!! and your lucky Garys Supersonics lost to crap teams in your championship seasons because the Sonics would have beaten your Rockets most likely ! Houston cashed in while Seattle faltered !
well, GP probably gonna wear Kenny down in a few months and he will have to quit anyways ... he will become too scared of coming on his own show ! haha
(im a payton fan, if you havent guessed, sorry for my ramblings) !
