Ball Don't Lie - NBA

All Dirk Nowitzki(notes) wanted for Christmas were Carl Landry's(notes) front teeth. (Well played, Ziller.)

Both forwards were lost early in the second quarter of Friday's "controversial" Rockets-Mavericks game when Landry's mouth cut off Nowitzki's elbow on a drive. The collision left Landry with five cracked or knocked out teeth, a few of which ended up embedded in Nowitzki's right arm.

Landry was taken to the emergency room and will see an oral surgeon today to determine the extent of the damage, according to the Houston Chronicle. I can't imagine he'll be out long, considering this is the same tough guy who needed just three weeks to recuperate from a bullet to the leg last season.

As for Dirk's toughness? Well, before going to the locker room for X-rays, stitches and to get the pieces of some other dude's face removed from his skin, Nowitzki, who is right-handed, made one of the two free throws he shot with his left. That's got to count for something, right? Semi-Chuck Norris.

Both players are listed as day-to-day.
