Video: Jennings-to-Amir oops could win me over

I hate the Milwaukee Bucks.

I'm not proud to admit this, seeing as I run a site about the entire NBA, but I really do. Well, maybe hate is a strong word. I strongly dislike the Milwaukee Bucks. There. That's better.

Honestly, outside of Brew Hoop and maybe Armen "The Hammer" Gilliam, everything about the Bucks bores me to death. Those tacky Christmas color jerseys, the uninspired team roster (sorry, I've never been a big Michael Redd(notes) fan), that creepy emo mascot ... man, I can't stand 'em. They're just ... just ... there. It's a frustrating franchise to try and follow.

But I'll tell you what, if rookie Brandon Jennings(notes) and new addition Amir Johnson(notes) keep connecting on sick alley-oops (like they do at the 1:17 and 1:24 marks in the Vegas Summer League video above), well, I'm going to start paying a lot more attention to the Bucks. Heck, I might even drink a Milwaukee's Best. (Too much?)

    J.E. skeets bored me to death. his columns sucks... but i agree, the bucks suck... as much as skeets. bucks need to get a high profile player. Go lakers.

    looks to me like tyreke evans was really close to a triple double too. 33 point 9 rebounds and 7 assist that is very very good. but still jonny flynn is the man

    Milwaukee's Best is definitely too far...but I'm sure Jennings hasn't learned his lesson from the Joe Budden video incident so there will be plenty of sound bites to come from him and the Bucks. At least they will be trying to keep things interesting from a agreed very boring franchise.

    At least go with Milwaukee's Best Ice. I don't know if they still make it or not, but I am sure you can find a case stuck in the back somewhere.

    Yes, the Bucks are an easy team to ignore. Easy to underestimate. Milwaukee is not a glamorous city. We all have hat-hair in the winter. But, like Milwaukee's Best and, the city grows on you. So do The Bucks. Boneheaded moves and all. With the arrival of John Hammond and Scott Skiles the Bucks are on the right track. Forget what Mr. Skeets said about the unis and Bango. Even a grumpy old goat like him concedes that there's something happening here basketball-wise.

    Hate the bucks...????? Why do you have an NBA column????,,,,,you said the only thing good about the bucks was Arman Gillium...man do you follow the nba or do you just skim through it??? What about Kareem, Oscar, Big Dogg, Ray Allen, Sam Cassell, Terry Cummings, Ricky Pierce, Alvin Robertson...the list goes on and on....you are a gigantic tool posing as a basketball columnisit. Although it is nice to see Brandon Jennings bring attention our way again, Scott Skiles and John Hammonds have been slowly and effectively building a winner here. I expect to compete for the playoffs this year. Heres to Arman Gillium and Jack Sikma running a train on your moms!

    They've had some good players over the years, Kareem, Oscar, Terry Cummings. Let's not forget Sidney Moncrief, one of only 5 guards to win the Defensive Player of the Year. Junior Bridgeman, Terrell Brandon, and I'll even give them Glenn Robinson and Alvin "I'm so good at stealing that I'll even break into my ex-girlfriend's apartment" Robertson. You also can't hate late-career Jack Sikma or Paul "the original point forward" Pressey. But then there's Brad Lohaus, Cadillac Anderson, Frank Brickowski, Anthony Mason, Vin Baker, Andrew Lang, late-career Gary Payton, Sam Cassell, Todd Day, Eric Mobley, Tyrone Hill, Ervin Johnson, and Tim Thomas. Brandon Jennings hasn't even played a game and he's already tip-toeing the line between the two groups.
