Video: Jameer Nelson goes yard in Philly

A few Magic teammates traded their paintball guns for wooden sticks on Thursday to take a little batting practice at Citizens Bank Park before the Phillies-Diamondbacks game, as part of an annual team-bonding event hosted by guard Jameer Nelson(notes). As you're about to see, the Chester, PA native and former Saint Joesph's star was the only player to touch 'em all. (Sorry, Philly fans, mandatory World Series '93 jab there.)

Now, that's the type of leadership you won't find in the Mets' dugout.

Cheers, The Fightins.

Matt Barnes... Just because fools are known to slang rocks at barber shops doesn't mean you have to get a haircut by one of their customers.

Chris, in case you missed all the major off-season trade, the Magic are likely to be better next year especially b/c they traded Turkoglu and Alston (and others) to the Raps for V Carter. While he might still be buds with Nelson (really dunno), it wouldn't make a lot of sense for Turk to be there when Nelson was taking his teamates there as some sort of team-bonding thing.Nobody there really looks like Turk anyway.

Nelson roped a Milt Thompson batting practice pitch over the left-field fence hours before the Phillies-Diamondbacks game, drawing a rousing response from Magic teammates Matt Barnes, Vince Carter, Rashard Lewis, Anthony Johnson, Brandon Bass, J.J. Redick and Ryan Anderson, along with former Magic Bo Outlaw. Each of the basketball players had a chance to take some pregame swings, courtesy of the Phillies and Nelson.
