Video: CEO John Rogers beats Jordan one-on-one, circa 2003

Back in February, SI's Chris Ballard wrote a story about a post-Wizards era Michael Jordan that received a bit of attention. As the story went, some mutual fund CEO named John Rogers Jr. had beaten Jordan in a game of one-on-one at the legend's high-end "Flight School" camp in Las Vegas. According to Ballard, there were one-handed runners and flip-shots and even Damon Wayans. It was quite the tale. And today, thanks to The Wall Street Journal, we finally have video footage.

That lefty lay-in at the end to win it was impressive. Nice English, John.

MC, either you're just a complete moron or you don't understand basketball. All Jordan did that game on offense was stand in the same exact spot and heave 3's. On defense, he never even bothered to put up a hand - he could've easily blocked all the shots with his long arms.
Buddy, get a clue. It's like when you "play" against a little kid or a girl, you don't go 100%.

Man! This camp musta cost a fortune. Old, rich, balding CEO's all over the place. JORDAN was smiling - he's saying: "This is a stick-up! Don't take it seriously."

Anyone who plays ball can see that Jordan WAS trying to block that last shot, but Rogers had great body control and kept it away from him. It happens in ball, even to the best.

It's not real 1 on 1. There was no rebounding, plus MJ really only played defense on the last shot.

This is a funny video. We all know MJ can beat this guy easily. This is just a way to give the fans their monies worth so the CEO can go home and tell his grandkids hey I bet MJ. BUt as his kids get older and look at this video and some of the Real MJ clips. They would say Grand dad. MJ wasn't even playing you hard. He was just taking it easy on you. You and no hooper you suck. My grand dad is a lame!

For those of you who actually believe this dude won, get real!
At 38 MJ lit it up for 51 points against the Hornets!Again, this was against NBA players who were younger and quicker .He would destroy this dude if he wanted.

i dont know bout that number 19... both jordan and kobe could of beat this guy hands down without breaking a sweat if they wanted to .. but the difference is jordan was havung fun toning down the intensity.. i dont know if black mamba knows another way to play the game. whether its jordan or john rogers jr kobe was playing he would play the same. i think kobe would commit hari kari if he lost. lol cool vid though

To Mr. J. E. Skeets: Don't tell me you are not serious in writing this column. If you want to write a "story" at the expense of Mr. Michael Jordan, you are on the wrong track! Also, you should clarify that Mr Jordan "wants" to get beat for your story to be believable. Thank you. Go Lakers!
