Scanning the blogs and beats following the Suns' 105-86 win
over the Spurs in Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals ...
Scott, Bordow, East Valley Tribune: "Too often, Diaw has been an uninterested observer. He had 50 games this season with five rebounds or less and 51 games in which he scored in single digits. But Diaw was a different player Sunday. When he got the ball in the low post against smaller defenders Manu Ginobili and Michael Finley, he looked to score rather than throw the ball back out to the 3-point line. His 19 field-goal attempts were his most all season."
Buck Harvey, SA Express-News: "... as the Spurs did everything but untie their laces, the Suns were still on edge. Amare Stoudemire got a technical foul early in the fourth quarter, long after the Spurs’ starters had been pulled, and he returned later after the Suns’ lead had dropped. From 32 points to 21. Did Mike D’Antoni think Jacque Vaughn and Damon Stoudamire were threatening?"
Dan Bickley, Arizona Republic: "... it's hard to gauge the significance of this much-needed one-sided affair. Having won the first three games of the series, the Spurs were clearly happy, lacking the palpable intensity that marked their triumph in Game 3. Yet, remove the third quarter of Game 2, and the Suns have performed very well in San Antonio this season. And this new wrinkle — Diaw on Parker with lots of traps thrown in for good measure — could make things interesting in Game 5."
Jeff McDonald, SA Express-News: "The Suns’ defense, much maligned in this series, made life difficult on the Spurs’ shooters. A game after blistering the nets at a 56-percent clip, the Spurs shot 39 percent Sunday. Duncan had 14 points and 10 rebounds, but missed 12 of 18 shots. Manu Ginobili finished with 10 points, and also struggled with turnovers. He had four. Each member of the Spurs’ Big Three produced a series low in the scoring department."
Bob Young, AZ Central: "Researchers at the Society for Universal National Skepticism (SUNS) have concluded that, despite recent signs to the contrary, there may be life after all on Planet Orange. Scientists had begun to believe that Planet Orange had become a lifeless, dried up, dying orb no longer inhabitable and that life there was ancient history. ... But Sunday, the SUNS released compelling evidence, which indicates that Planet Orange could still be capable of harboring life."
Mike Monroe, SA Express-News: "Looking for positives from a blowout loss? No Spurs starter played as many as 30 minutes, so they all should be well-rested when Tuesday’s game tips off at AT&T Center."
Bright Side Of The Sun: "Coming back from being down 0-3 has never been done in the NBA, we all know that, but it's going to happen eventually, and when you think about it, the Suns would be the kind of team to do it. Usually when teams go down 0-3 it's because they are completely overmatched and the other team is unquestionably far superior. But we know the Suns can beat the Spurs, we've seen them do it four times this season. I'm not saying they are going to come back and win the series, but I am saying if any team could do it, it would be a team like this. So don't lose faith just yet."
Black Jesus Disciples: What's that you say? Boris Diaw will continue to play like a man possessed and Raja Bell will stay half as hot as he was today? Black Jesus will come back with a vengeance and Nash will look to shoot down the stretch? The defensive intensity will be off the charts in the last three games of the series? I like what I'm hearing.

Oh yeah let me guess any success he has is because of the big 3. Did you ever think he might be the reason for their balance and distribution?
