Scanning the blogs and beats following the Magic's 111-86 win over the Pistons in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals ...

Mike Bianchi, Orlando Sentinel: "The Magic now lead the series against the Pistons 1 games to 2. Or at least that what it feels like, doesn't it? ... Let's face it, the one and only reason anybody favored the Pistons coming into this series was because Billups has been a Magic-killer in the past and is considered vastly superior to Magic point guard Jameer Nelson. ... Prediction time: If Billups doesn't play the rest of the series, the Magic will win in 6. If Billups attempts to play and is severely limited, the Magic will win in 7. If Billups comes back close to full strength, the Pistons win in 6 or 7.

Chris McCosky, Detroit News: "One thing you have to know: If Chauncey Billups' strained right hamstring isn't right by Saturday, Rodney Stuckey will be. "I'm good," Stuckey said, when asked about the possibility of starting a critical Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals. "I ain't feeling nothing. I'm ready to play. I am just going to go out and do what I did today."

Believing in Magic: "Orlando prevailed for several reasons. The most notable is that they played Magic basketball and they made their three’s. Orlando has been awful from behind the arc this post season and have only shot well in two quarters, but they were consistent from the game and that made all the difference. They went 11-24 from three-point land, which was 45%. Hedo Turkoglu, who had 18 on the night, got back on track and made 3-of-5 threes."

David Whitley, Orlando Sentinel: "Yeah, I'm an offensive genius," Van Gundy said. He's looking like a rumpled, mustachioed Einstein at the moment. Dwight Howard is getting the ball in spots where he can do damage. And when Howard is feeling it on offense, he generally turns into Godzilla on defense. Nelson seems to be maturing into a consistent point guard before our very eyes. He's done that before, only to revert back into Jameer. But he's never played this well for this long. Then there's Lewis. Welcome to the playoffs, Money Man."

Need4Sheed: "It's funny now that the game is over I remember wondering why Dyess or Maxiell weren't putting up numbers. Now I know after looking at the box score that they weren't on the court much. Maxiell played just 18 minutes while Dyess just 14. What's the reason for that? Both went scoreless on the night and neither were in foul trouble. If it was because they used Walter and co. to mathup against the smaller guards? If it was, it didn't work."

John Denton, Florida Today: " At long last, the Orlando Magic finally proved they can beat the mighty Detroit Pistons in the playoffs. Now, they'll have a chance to prove they can beat them in a best-of-seven series. Knowing that no team in NBA history has ever rallied from a 0-3 deficit to win in the playoffs, the Magic played with a tremendous sense of desperation Wednesday and won at Amway Arena for a fourth consecutive time in these playoffs."

A. Sherrod Blakely, MLive.com: "It was definitely a hired gun out there we missed," said Rasheed Wallace, referring to Billups' shooting touch. "But Stuck did a pretty good job of coming in, running the offense, being aggressive, staying aggressive. It's kudos for Stuck." Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy praised his team for a well-played game, but was quick to add that Billups' absence was also a factor in the final outcome.

Chauncey is a name you recognize, Stuckey is our 1st round replacement for him, think coming out party.
Next week this series will be over, we will miss Billups 3 pt game but Stuckey blow by ability is the best on the team. Stuckey will ball even more than Chauncey, how do you like that Magic?
The defense and athleticism just got turned up 2 notches, look for Lindsay to take Stucks old bench minutes.

lol Sam another one who is dreaming, let's just see who wins Saturday night, the Pistons cant stop D12, and the Magic shot very well from outside in games 2 and 3, and guess what they drove the lane on Detroit so easily it was funny, they shoved it right down their throats. Oh so Robb and Stuckey is going into the lane? Cool more blocks for Superman lol
have fun in game 4, you better hope that Billups is 100%, you will need him to be.

Also Billups was still limping while he was leaving the arena last night, those injuries will get stiff and could linger for some time, even if he does come back for game 4, he wont be 100% AND he might run the risk of doing further injury to himself.

One guy does not win a championship, if the Pistons are so good then they needed to adapt to not having Billups, and they didnt
The only reason Detroit got closer in the 3rd is because the Magic stopped doing what gave them the big lead, moving the ball. The Magic let Detroit back in the game in the 3rd, then sped up the game in the 4th and the Pistons didnt have a chance. What is Rasheed going to whine about now? The loser should have been thrown out of last nights game for whining at the refs all night, he bailed on his team, that is why Detroit is beatable, get them on the ropes and Rasheed will turn on his teammates by acting like a misfit, just like he did last night.

Man!...Gotta love the Orlando fans. They win one game and now all of the sudden they are going to win the series with 4 consecutive wins. Don't get too excited. You played well last night and deserved to win whether Billups played or not. But, don't expect it to continue. The Magic have not performed well, yet, in pressure situations. Last night they got off to a good start after Detroit was stunned when Billups was injured. But, they were never under pressure from Detroit and ultimately rolled to victory. In Game 2, when it was close, remember the countless turnovers and bad shots in the last two minutes? That has been Orlando's Playoff M.O. when under pressure. Blame the clock error, and the refs, but ultimately Orlando fell apart in the end (cough, cough). Keep in mind Detroit is up 2-1 with two more home games. We have been here before and won't be phased by a Game 3 loss without their point guard and Captain. Detroit in 6
By the way...don't get too excited about Chauncey being out for an extended period leaving the Pistons a bit short handed. Word is that he that he will only miss game 4, at most, and that will be because he decides not to play to ensure a full recovery. They aren't worried about Orlando, but his health in the Conference Finals. I know, one series at a time. Gotta beat Orlando first....just speaking truthfully and realistically.

Thanks to Jameer Johnson's dirty play on Chauncey. Would be the only way the Magic could win the series. When you look at the replay you clearly see, when Johnson falls backwards he takes his right foot and turns it inwards, hooks Chauncey's left foot against his right leg, as he slides backwards. This is what caused Chauncey to do the splits. Any one else you see fall backwards, their FEET are turned upwards. It takes presents of MIND to hook your opponents FEET !!!!!!!!!

The boys in Orlando played well yesterday but they're still just boys. If the team can stay together, then I look for them to be a force in the future. But right now, they're still boys. And they're playing men from Detroit with championship experience. In the end, experience will prevail and the Magic will look forward to next year.

Rick Hamilton is killing the chemistry of the Detroit Pistons. When he touches the ball it is usually a turnover. I have posted this information for Joe Dumars many times, but it doesn't seem that he hears me. When Rick comes off the double pick screen, he is as good as any in the league, but when he starts dribbling the ball, our problems start to pile up. When Detroit relies on the guns of Rick, we usually lose by 20.

Ok guys lets get realistic. Im a big time Magic fan. Have been since the beginning. There is no way to predict whats going to happen at this point. It was one game, thats all. Before us Magic fans can get excited we have to win game 4. If we come out flat and lose, its over. We have to make them play our game, not theirs. The 3s have to fall and Howard has to be a beast. If none of that happens it won't matter who does or does not play. I admit, having Billups out of the line-up helps us tremendously, but if we don't do our thing will it really matter? Besides, if we do come out on top in this series, will it be just as satisfying as if they were full strength? I would like to think we still would have won last night even with Billups in the line-up. The thing is you just don't know. So I hope Billups comes back 100%. So if and when we take this series we don't have to listen to those sorry Piston fans crying and making excuses that they didn't have their boy. GO MAGIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow see whining, it wasnt a dirty play, give me a break, it was a foul, it is unfortonute that Billups got hurt, but to say that it was Nelson's intention is ridiculous
It is all I hear from the Pistons fans, excuses. Suck it up, you got beat. Louie is right, you Pistons fans will only make excuses anyway, we will see what happens in Game 4

Wow, well we should have played better, but how in the hell can an official not make a call on the last play of the game when Hedo was clearly fouled. Detroit played well in the 4th, but my god, when an official decides the game, that is unacceptable. Hedo should have had 2 free throws and didnt get them. Nice job Pistons, you got a call to go your way again.
I wouldnt be too proud that you are up 3-1, because this series has been much closer than that, see you in Detroit
