Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: NYC for LeBron, via Dime. The official website of New York’s campaign to bring LeBron James to the Knicks.
PF: Jones on the NBA. Nate Jones recommends that Gilbert Arenas hire an agent.
SF: CelticsBlog. It's true. What is there left to say about this year's Celtics' regular season?
SG: Hardwood Paroxysm. Lance Allred to Blake Ahearn on Facebook: "My team is better than yours." (Ha!)
PG: Empty The Bench. Six interesting ideas to make the NBA even better.
6th: Blazers Blog. Talks about watching Greg Oden run the hills of Tigard with Nate McMillan.
7th: Half Court Heave. A look at the NBA's all-time best facial hair. (Brian Winters. Wow.)
8th: 3 Shades of Blue. What does the NBA consider "verbal abuse"?
9th: Sports Media Watch. TNT's Tuesday Rockets-Celtics game scored some pretty good ratings.
10th: Frye Blog. Channing Frye on the movie Be Kind Rewind: "They bamboozled me. I went in there thinking I was getting ready to laugh my socks off, and what did I get? A mushy chick flick."

(Note: I've got a train to catch, so that's going to be it for me today. Rod Benson should have his Friday Boom up shortly. Happy Easter, enjoy the Madness (both college and NBA), and I'll see you Monday.)

I can't hate LeBroni for wanting to go to a bigger market...the "Brooklyn Nets" is a calculated attempt to sell shirts, but at least the Nets have history in NYC and it isn't just another RocaWear gimmick...at least not completely. I pity the Cavs for essentially renting LeBroni, but it's their own damn fault. If they'd put a better long-term plan together, the LeBron era would be remembered for a lot more than one token Finals appearance out of a pitiful Eastern Conference. I mean it was impressive, but there were six better Western conference teams who sat home last year because of the imbalance. This may be the first time in years that there's more than two Eastern teams who could hang with all eight West playoff teams (not to mention the ninth seed)...and whoopee, there are THREE. Sad.

rikkrichie or whatever, Can you name MJs teammates other than Pippen? But yet he won 6th Crowns?
Queen james is overrated, He does not make his other teammates better because his ego is to big. MJ never question his teammates in public or never went to the end the bench when they were getting blown out. Oh, that is not fair, because I do not recall MJ teams ever getting blown out.
Let the Queen go to NYC so that he can be on the cover Glamour with another one of our White women! ALL HAIL TO THE QUEEN DIVA james!

"Does Lebron need money? No...." yep, he does not need it, but he wants it all, every penny he can get.

don't act like jordan didn't hava a good team. the bulls won 55 games and went to the conference finals without him between 3peats. As for Lebron, although a future hall of famer, he is no MJ. At least not yet.

oh yeah, jordan had the same type scorers, the difference was team defense, starting with jordan. jordan pippen and rodman were all-nba defenders.

as soon an LJ can he will demand a 20+ million a year contract and then complain about how bad his team is just like JK, thats not fair though because i have a feeling LJ would ask for all 60 million in cap space JK just wanted to be rich

LeBron must have worked on his jump shot. It's a little better than last year. I use to scream at the TV for him to pass the ball during those last seconds of the game and he would not. This year I see a little difference. I am hoping the trade helps him and his team. It could. Ben Wallace has to rededicate himself. He got the big contract and he does not play hungry anymore and he's hurt a lot(A bust in Chi). This team needs balance scoring. One man can be stopped in the playoffs. A team effort wins. I think Kobe wins MVP this year and Lebron wins it next year. Nash should not have won it twice. Dirks team had the best record and he was the leading scorer during the regular season. You all forget Dirk was scoring big when Nash was on his team. So he earned it. Golden State got two scorers from Indiana and the team got better. The coach built the Mavs and he knew how to tear it apart. The trade helped G State win that series. I question the officials in a few of the Mavs-Heat series. I saw a lot of bad calls go against the Mavs in Miami. I don't think the league was ready for Coach fo the year and Championship Coach for a newcomer. Just think, the same old men that won against the Mavs lost four straight games to a youthful Chicago team. And, at the start of the next season the Bulls beat the Heat by fifty points. This is the same team that won against the Mavs. Something ain't right here. Now, today the Heat just show up. They are scouting Lottery players. I don't care who wins just play fair, Oh, and then the world found out a little cheating by the Refs was going down. Nuff Said.

Be careful about wanting to play in New York. You can't pass gas without everybody knowing. Ewing had some bad games and some bad years. A lot of NBA players went through NY trying to stop Detroit and the Bulls. Nothing worked. Not even new coaches. If Ewing and all those rejects could not win what makes people think Lebron can go there and win? Are they going to get rid of all the players they have now? And that coach? NY will be terrible for a long time and Lebron can't help them. And for all you people who think Jordan won all those championships by himself you are real wrong. There were five or six seven footers rotating in and BJ Armstrong, Paxson,Kerr,Horance Grant,Williams,Rodman.Pippen, the foreign dude that Pippen did not like(Pippen would not go in the game with seconds remaining), the guard that had a speech impediment and went on to play in LA. His name can be Harper(Ron Harper?).And there were more role players on those teams. Jordan and Pippen use to get benched for terrible shooting nights. That's what helped them be good defensive players. A lot of nights Jordan missed that last second shot. People give Jordan way too much credit for those wins. You forget Starks and Dumars gave Jordan fits. And Seattle's Payton played Jordan pretty good.. Basketball is a team game. It's not Golf.
