Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: Sir Charles In Charge. Are Rajon Rondo(notes) and Ray Allen(notes) the best backcourt combo in the league?
PF: Primer. Five dunks on LeBron James(notes) about which Nike should have been much more concerned with.
SF: Twin-Cities. Seeholzer: "The remaking of the Timberwolves' roster continued today when they traded center Etan Thomas(notes) and two future second-round draft picks to the Thunder for guards Damien Wilkins(notes) and Chucky Atkins(notes)."
SG: Basketball-Reference.com Blog. What's left in Vince Carter's(notes) tank?
PG: FH. The Bulls say Luol Deng(notes) is not healthy enough to play with Britain's national team this summer.
6th: SRI. New Detroit Pistons coach John Kuester calls himself an "experienced rookie coach."
7th: 7 Seconds Or Mess. Gian profiles rookie Jordan Hill's(notes) performance in the Vegas Summer League.
8th: The 700 Level. Sixers pick Jrue Holiday(notes) throws out the first pitch at a Phillies-Padres game.
9th: Knee Jerk NBA. Romance, disillusionment and the three other stages of NBA relationships.
10th: The Starting Five. Chris Webber(notes): "I wanted to retire as a King. I thought about going home and signing with Sacramento for one day, but again, signing with Golden State offered me closure I wouldn’t have had if I didn't have the opportunity."

Just watched those Lebron 'posterizations', and the only legit one is the Iguodala one. Yao Ming? No. Jason Maxiell? No. Kobe Bryant in the ASG? No. and the most laughable one of them all is the Courtney Lee, because it's one of those catch-up attempts first of all, not Lebron waiting, sizing up the attempt and whiffing, but chasing and nearly catching it too. But no, look closely, Boys and Girls, Lee CLEARLY travels. This happens quite frequently in the NBA, I've seen it on numerous occasions, and it'd be nice if refs would take it away when a rule has been broken.

Wow. So here are backcourt rankings by Sir Charles in Charge:
    1. Rondo/Allen
    2. Nelson/Carter
    3. Parker/Ginobili
    4. Fisher/Bryant
    5. Nash/Richardson
    6. Williams/Brewer
    7. Miller/Roy
    8. Bibby/Johnson
    9. Kidd/Terry
    10. Chalmers/Wade
That's right, Parker and washed-up Manu are #3! Nash/Richardson and Williams/Brewer are ahead of Miller/Roy. That's insane. Brewer is a good defender whose game needs to keep growing, and Nash/Richardson didn't get into the playoffs last year.
Welp, one less blog I need to bookmark.

How can you complain about someone traveling that dunked on Lebron, your forgetting that he is the guy that invented the "crab dribble" which is traveling. If the refs called it all the time the cavs would want LeBron out.

Wow, Iguodala's dunk on LeBron is pretty damn amazing. Lee's second dunk is almost as impressive, but I like Iggy's dunk, taking LeBron one-on-one and finishing on his big ol' head.

Comment #11, I don't watch them now because they don't call them by the rules. If your team has no superstar, you have very little chance of going the distance, because the "superstars" get calls the good players don't.

No way rondo and allen are the best backcourt. parker--ginobili are better. Rip, stuckey, and gordon are better. kobe and fish are better. Ray Allen is not that good anymore in my opinion. He is an above average SG and rondo is up and coming but not there yet

To all the fools who call me out for saying Courtney Lee clearly travels, watch the tape...i never said Bron doesn't travel. Did I? All I said was that that list is TERRIBLE, half of them weren't even legit 1v1 Bron Vs. Opponent Dunks. and the Lee one is completely bogus because LEE TRAVELED...ONE, TWO, THREE, LIFTOFF and Lebron chased him down to nearly block it. That IS NOT the same as waiting in the key for a guy driving the lane.
