Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: Straight Bangin'. Kobe Bryant might be better than Michael Jordan. Discuss.
PF: FreeDarko. And ... Kobe Bryant is better than LeBron James. Discuss, discuss.
SF: Hornets247. Hornets247. Ryan Schwan is tired of his Hornets whining to the refs so much.
SG: D.C. Sports Bog. Wizards play-by-play man Steve Buckhantz gives Phil Chenier a kiss. Dagger!!!!
PG: Why Don’t We Get Drunk And Blog? Shaquille O'Neal, not funny. (Watch for language.)
6th: The Star. Doug Smith wants to see Jamario Moon coming off the bench.
7th: 3 Shades of Blue. Darko Milicic is an enigma wrapped in a question mark wrapped in gangsta.
8th: The Rising Suns. It does feel a little like the Suns are pursuing anyone and everyone.
9th: Uncrate. Try and remember NOT to buy this for Drew Gooden or DeShawn Stevenson.
10th: Rocky Mountain News. Here's a fun little fact: If a fifth Nuggets player can reach 40 points in a game this season, Denver will make NBA history.

The Washington Kiss Cam-ers must have some strange fetish for odd pairings. They rarely pick couples. This is not an uncommon occurrence, actually. DAGGER!

Kobe and LeBron are fighting for the best player in the league right now. Maybe it can be determined throughout the playoffs. Neither are at Michael Jordan's level yet, Kobe still needs a ring without Shaq and LeBron has none. As far as Jamario Moon coming off the bench, I agree. Why not put TJ Ford back in the starting roll with Calderon and move Anthony Parker to SF?

Kobe can't isolate like Jordan could in the illegal zone defense era that Jordan played in. If Kobe (or Shaq for that matter) lived in the 80's, it would be GAME OVER. Kobe for President.

It is absurd to begin to make comparisons to Jordan. Anybody who even thinks to make the comparison didnt follow Jordan's career. Its kind of sad that so many of the younger generation didnt really get to see how great he was. The guy retired for almost 2 years at his prime after winning 3 titles, came out of retirement to win 3 more. That tells you how great he was that in spite of his skills being depleted, he was still the best. Kobe cant even get out of the first round since Shaq left. Shaq has already won a title without Kobe so what does that tell you? Kobe has and will need a better player than himself to win it all.
Sorry Kobe Lovers, kobe will always be robin.

kobe is hands down the best offensive player ever to touch the ball. the things he does are not human-like. yet, if your looking based off fantasy, look at lebron's stats and compare them to kobe. 30, 8, 7, 2, and 1. insane. but the problem is, i doubt that either of them can carrry their team to championships like jordan did. kobe doesn't have to put forth as much willpower and effort as jordan did, so that makes jordan the best all-around basketball player ever. as for lebron... as soon as he starts getting his team involved.. let me know. the cavs are a 1-man team and never shouldve beat the pistons last year.

Everybody loves to compare players to Jordan because he is the GOAT. Kobe at this time is not at that level, not even the level below it, and the level below that. But with that said, Kobe does still have at least 6 seasons left. I don't think he'll ever get there, but in time someone must. It looks like Lebron has a better shot than Kobe at taking the GOAT title with over 10 years left in his career. As of right now, Jordan is the GOAT, and no one is threatening that yet.

In sports, people have short term memory, media influences this. A couple months ago weren't the Patriots being branded as the greatest team of all time??? A couple seasons ago when the Pistons got off to that incredible start and were on pace to break the 72-10, a lot of people were saying that they were better than that Bulls team, the Pistons didn't even make it to the finals that same year. And just today I heard that Kobe's 81 tops Chamberlains 100. This is all crazy talk, and one day people will start comparing someone undeserving to Kobe. When people say Kobe is better than MJ, they are comparing him to Jordan's diminished skills as a Wizard.

Please. Not even close. After that first taste of being World Champion, Jordan went on to three-peat. After his first retirement and falling short in the '95 playoffs, he led the team to a 72-10 mark and the first of another three-peat! Don't get me wrong, Kobe has skills. He's ridiculous in his own right. But come on. And don't compare playing in different eras. When you're as sick as MJ, you find ways to get it done.

Kobe better than Jordan? I dont think so! the only thing I would maybe give Kobe over Jordan, is that Kobe is probably a better marksman. but Jordan clearly is better in every other aspect of the game. and to be honest I think lebron is just as good and will be better than kobe in a couple of years.

Kobe is the best in the league right now and with 2 or 3 more rings he will be better then Jordan.

Kobe is not a better marksman then Jordan, look at the fg %, Jordan averaged around 50 percent, kobe around 45 percent, which is a big difference. I will give kobe the edge in defense, jordan was awesome, but i think kobe is better. With that said Kobe is not even close to being better then MJ, but as of now he is the closest thing. LeBron needs some more years and some rings b4 u can start comparing him to Michael.
