Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: National Post. David Stern is tired of all the pre-game pizzazz — "There are babies in the building."
PF: SLAM Online. Shoals' latest and greatest Quotemonger, now with a sleek new look.
SF: The Sports Hernia. Coach Steve Shuman would like you to believe he's excited about the WNBA season.
SG: 100% Injury Rate. Trying to understand the rash of NBA Playoff road losses.
PG: DallasDirt, via DB.com. Avery Johnson’s condo at the Ritz is officially on the market for $4,475,000. (!)
6th: SportsByBrooks. Did Boston bartenders spike Atlanta Hawks' drinks before Game 7?
7th: ShanghaiDaily, via GT. Yao has donated 500,000 yuan to victims of the Southwest China earthquake.
8th: Hardwood Paroxysm. Eight simple rules to live by during the playoffs.
9th: The Rising Suns. Hersey thinks the Suns could be very successful as a roided-clone of the '96-98 Jazz.
10th: The Sporting Blog. Is your team as "fly" as the New Orleans Hornets? I doubt it.

Better to ban the fireworks than have one malfunction and kill thousands and bankrupt the league. We've already seen what can happen in the rock concert incident that killed over 100 fans. Why would anyone risk it? It's not that show the fans are there to see. Why have it in the first place? There are only negatives that can result by including them in the business sense, thus, get rid of the risks they represent altogether. The fans are there for basketball, not pyrotechnics. Smart move on Stern's part. I applaud him for realizing it and doing something to protect individual franchises from themselves. Kudos go out to David!
