Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: Tyson Chandler's NBA Blog. Tyson Chandler talks in the third person, thinks Chris Paul is this season's MVP.
PF: Empty The Bench. This is my favorite post of the week: '20 Fugly Items from the NBA Store.'
SF: NBA FanHouse. Stop the Internets! Miss Gossip finally lands a video interview with Baron Davis.
SG: Hornets247.com. Greeting the New Orleans Hornets players at the airport looks like a lot of fun.
PG: Deadspin. Vote for this season's Least Valuable Player of the NBA.
6th: Stop Mike Lupica. I know a guy who went to high school with Heat rookie Joel Anthony. True story.
7th: NY Daily News. According to Isola, former Knick guard Mark Jackson is the front-runner for Zeke's job.
8th: The Reporters. As many as eight teams -- three in the East, five out West -- can clinch playoff spots tonight.
9th: Brahsome. Charles and Kenny change diapers on air. If you have a weak stomach, maybe skip this one.
10th: Mr. Irrelevant. "I don't talk trash. I don't call people names. I just very quietly take the rock to the rack and THROW IT DOWN HARD! I am Jerry Stackhouse." Word.

I don't think kobe is any better this year than he was last year.
his team is better, but he's the same.
i would actually give more credit to tracy mcgrady as mvp. 22 game winning streak, half of it minus yao ming.
and the lakers are not "the" team to beat. boston is. don't be ridiculous.
boston would absolutely smash l.a. if they met in the finals.

LMAO..obviously those whom are here lobbying for Kobe "I'm such a baby, i cry everytime i dont get my way" Bryant to win the MVP over the likes of Chris Paul are either Lakers' Fans or fans who have never played competitive basketball in their lives. Follow me for a moment or two......ONE, the Hornets have the best record in the West, 1.5 games ahead of the lakers....TWO....Chris Paul plays the game and i guarantee you've never heard him whine or complain about not getting his way...an MVP, which if you didnt know, stands for most VALUABLE player, doesnt distract his team all summer long with crybaby antics of how they want to be traded away, they lead their team both ON and OFF the court, thus bettering the team's morale and as a whole....THREE...i will give it to kobe that he is probably the best player in the NBA right now, but by no means is he the most valuable....he is a shoot first type player, and at his position, that is fine, but rarely does he make his players around him any better...not only does he touch the ball over 40 times a game and averages a mere 5 assists, take a look at gasol whom you think would benefit with teams doubling kobe, thus opening him up for easier shots...yet, his numbers are down in comparison to his career numbers...everyone that comes to LA usually has a decline in numbers due to the selfish/ignorant play of kobe...gasol, odom, mihm, radmonovic and that's just players from this year's roster....FOUR....compare the numbers of the two...more wins for paul, way more assists, is a point guard and averages LESS turnovers than kobe, more steals, better FG, better FT, and all kobe does is score more and get more rebs.....no comparison in my mind...Paul has taken a team that was down and out and made them a serious Championship contender in less than two years...yes, kobe has won championships before...WITH the likes of one of the best big men ever...and one las thing...Chris Paul is 22 years old and is still improving..the sky is the limit for him and will be a pleasure to watch him incorporate his team as a whole, rather than just himself...read the numerous articles of how EVERY ONE of the Hornet's players have said that Chris Paul is the MVP, hands down...now, go out there and try to find an article of any of the Laker's players saying the same of Kobe....ill save you the time and effort....YOU WONT FIND ANY....he is selfish, cocky and beyond ignorant......
    CHRIS PAUL FOR MVP
    or
    K.G.

To number 6. You've contradicted yourself quite a few times throughout your little minirant. Apparently, Kobe Bryant is "supposed" to dish out a heavy load of assists, but at his position, his main goal is still "supposed" to be to shoot. He only beats Chris Paul in scoring and rebounds, but then again, his goal is to shoot, right? Chris Paul gets way more assists, because Chris Paul is a POINT GUARD. Therefore, Chris Paul's MAIN GOAL is to dish out a heavy load of assists. You can't compare two different players and say that a point guard has more assists than a shooting guard, so that must mean the point guard is better. That's like saying, "Well, Udonis Haslem has more rebounds than Dwayne Wade, so he must be the most valuable player on the Heat." Anyway. I do give my props to Chris Paul for being an outstanding player, and I will say that he has a very good chance of being the MVP this year, but you don't have to hate on Kobe. After all, he just plays basketball. ~Blah

"read the numerous articles of how EVERY ONE of the Hornet's players have said that Chris Paul is the MVP"
what were you expecting his teammates to say?
Also you cant compare numbers between two players at different positions that makes absolutely no sense.
Also the season isnt even over yet, and the Lakers and the Hornets can still finish in different standings at the end. Kobe also had to team with more team injuries issues with bynum hurt and even gasol getting hurt.
I do agree CP3 has had a wonderful year but i dont see him as more deserving to win the mpv than kobe
