Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: The Blowtorch. T-shirts under your jersey should be left to college guys and rec leagues. Hear, hear!
PF: Basketbawful. Dear Lord, NBA mascots are thugs!
SF: SportsTsar. Mario "Superintendent" Chalmers. Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times, yes.
SG: Boston Herald. Paul Pierce is finally getting an MRI done on his banged-up championship knee.
PG: BallerBlogger.com. What in the world is Elton Brand waiting for? Doesn't he have enough money already?
6th: With Malice. An all-time Lakers team, minus Shaq? Erroneous!
7th: Docksquad Sports. Some thoughts and video highlights from Rose and Beasley's first games as pros.
8th: Tirico Suave. An open invitation for Jorge Garbajosa to join a Dexy's Midnight Runners tribute band.
9th: Brand New. The 20-year-old New Orleans Hornet just got a whole lot "edgier."
10th: Forum Blue and Gold. Kurt: "... in Lakers forums all over the Internet, on talk radio, seemingly everywhere there is a fascination among some Lakers fans with bringing Ron Artest to the LA. And I don’t get it. I understand being unsure how well Odom will do as the small forward, it’s a legitimate question and concern. But Ron Artest is not the answer."

Or as Ralph Wiggum would say, Mario "Supernintendo" Chalmers.

What is going to really be funny is when Mario turns out to be a better guard than Derrick. First he takes away the national championship and then does better in the NBA, which would be tragic for Mr. Rose. Miami could return to being in the top 5 of the east while Chicago continues to underperform.

Ron Artest will bring stability to the small forward position of the Los Angeles LAKERS ... However, what will they do to Radmanovic, Walton and Ariza? With the return of Andrew Bynum, Chris Mihm and Ronnie Turiaf will compete with Lamar Odom for the power forward slot. The Laker's guard position is solid with Bryant, Fisher, Vujacic and Farmar and they would be more experienced for a championship run next season.

The hope is that the arrival of Artest would have a effect similar to what Rodman did for the the Bulls back in '96, '97, '98.

    @RLC - showtime...
    Starters:
    Bynum, Pau, Artest, Kobiyashi, Fisher
    Bench:
    1/2 - Farmar, Vujacic, Ariza
    3 - Walton, Radman
4/5 - bit of question mark here (Kwame Brown, anyone?)
I think Turiaff signed with someone else today

He signed with the Warriors. But the Lakers have 7 days to match.
