my favorite part about all those old NBA games (like Bulls vs Blazers, etc) was when the clock was winding down, a scary slo-mo voice would say SHOOT IT! you know, just like marv albert. except if marv was a dinosaur.

Ever notice that this Dwyer idiot only selects comments that he can easi
How come you never comment on the fact that so many readers want you fired?
How come you never show your picture on yahoo sports, in order to have our readers
identify and familiarize ourselves w/ you. (oh yeah, because there are just too many
    people who want you replaced)
** nonetheless, if any of you readers are curious to what this amateur writer looks like,

In any case, a lot of us are very frustrated that you are still linked to Yahoo Sports Dwyer. Seriously,
if you have any consciense, you'd resign. Still, several of us are finding a way to create a formal petition
to have you fired, and get a better writer. Please just be patient folks

adseljuk - you're an idiot. It's a blog you moron. A blog!!! I love the faction of readers that want every blogger or whatever they're called on Yahoo to be fired. You're just as dumb. You're not paying anything. Don't read it if you don't like it. You and all of your let's-get-this-guy-fired friends are all idiots.

Holy [profane]! I just had a flashback of epic, mid-90s proportions with that photo of NBA Live. Thank you, KD.

I was in high school when NBA Live 95 came out, and I get Nintendinitis just thinking about it again. First non-NBA Jam game where you could do turbo I think. Problem was once you got the timing down, you realized you could just play as Reggie Miller or Mitch Richmond and drain 3s all game.

There's a few people to blame in this. Yahoo itself has gotten pretty trashy these days. It used to be REAL news, these days I feel like I'm looking at PEOPLE magazine, or STAR when I log on. Combine that, with a moron like Dwyer who tries to write controversial blogs to stir up the pot, you get crap. Warrior fans are still pretty upset about your pointless blog you wrote a few months ago insulting us on our intelligence. Dwyer ended up crossing out those lines with a red maker. Ghetto! Finally, I know you were always the kid that never got picked because you suck at sports. So writing about it made you feel better. Have a good one, keep writing so we can keep dissing.

KD, thanks for bringing back fond memories! I can tell this one is the SNES version based on the graphics. I had all of the 16-bit versions of the NBA Live series until they pulled the plug on the 16-bit consoles after NBA Live 98 with Tim Hardaway on the cover.
And #10 Taeho, I know exactly what you're talking about! Find the right player to just jack threes, and you can score 100 in a 12-20 minute game! I thoroughly enjoyed the create-a-player function on Live 98 because then I would create myself and set all kinds of NBA records--something that could never happen in any alternate universe!
Anyway, the soundtracks are great. Anyone know where they can be downloaded? I'm not content to just have them as youtube links!

Oh, and can't forget the UNREAL dunks that even mediocre dunkers (in real life) could pull off in the Live series! I probably have videos lying around somewhere at home, where I taped replays of said dunks by the most obscure players (and some from legit superstars). Hypothetical example: Anthony Peeler on a fast break doing a two-handed, COMPLETE 360 dunk over a perennial shotblocker like Hakeem Olajuwon! No harm, no foul. Just a pixelated 16-bit poster of the NBA's bottom-feeders over the elite!

I have those NBA Live tracks on a CD in my car, and I listen to them all of the time. Amazing stuff. Whoever decided to go with licensed music in 2000 (although I love the Mothership Connection) was an idiot. Honestly, 2000 was good, but the series just started going downhill after that.
