Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: The Plain Dealer. The Cavaliers have come to terms with Daniel "Boobie" Gibson on a five-year contract.
PF: Basketbawful. Forget Marbury's head tattoo, let's discuss Greg Ostertag's ridiculous Fred Flinstone ink.
SF: The Detroit News. Former Spartan Jason Richardson gives back to his hometown of Saginaw, Michigan.
SG: SI. Mannix's sources say Josh Smith won't return to the Hawks if the team retains coach Mike Woodson.
PG: Straight Cash Homey. Clarence Weatherspoon has lost a lot of weight.
6th: Young, Black and Fabulous. Scroll down to see a hilarious photo of Chris Webber in Twitch-like glasses.
7th: With Leather. The Celtics Dancers are auditioning for next year's team. They look ... um, talented.
8th: Hornets 24/7. Don't expect anything flashy from the Hornets this summer, folks.
9th: HypeBeast. Pics of the latest Nike Hyperstrike Kobe tributes. (Thanks, Trey)
10th: The Charlotte Observer. Rick Bonell: "Patience could pay off for the Charlotte Bobcats, in regard to Emeka Okafor ..."

Programming note: I have a few meetings to attend this afternoon, so it's going to be pretty quiet around BDL for the rest of the day. Please plan your day accordingly — like, go outside or something.

You honkey! I'm tired of hearing your excuses. I have to work the rest of today, I can't go outside!
At least give me my winnings for the Starbury tatoo, then I'll be happy....

I'll tell ya what, for a team that resisted it for the longest time...in the space of two years, the Celtics have assembled an impressive group of exotic...er, I mean, professional dancers.

Why oh why are these lines in the side of the head making a comeback? First Dwayne Wade and now LeBron. I thought we left that mess behind in 1993.

@curtis: It's retro, man! Don't you want to see Melo with a sick Kenny "Sky" Walker high-top fade and Chris Paul with some greasy AC Green Jheri curls? Maybe Baron Davis could shave steps into his beard.

Well, it would be a hoot to see Greg Oden with a Gumby fade like Bobby Brown in his "Every Little Step" video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=x-WvXWbt73U

Skeets, you know that the Hawks signed Woodson to a new 2-year deal a month ago, right?

I hope BDL is keeping an eye on the Olympic qualifiers in Athens this week. International ball gets too little play in the US media outside of actual Team USA coverage. That said, I'm hoping we steamroll to the gold in Beijing. There's also a few NBA guys in the tourney worth keeping an eye on.

I have been a laker fan since 1971,and I know the Lakers have some old baggage that needs to be cut loose, but letting Turiaf go isn't the way to go,if you do not keep your nucleus intacked then your only going make things tougher to compete.

As cool as Lebron is suprise nobody wants to come and play with him.I know in my heart the Danny is trying the franchise is depending on it.There is no way the king will leave he loves it here even if he doesnt tip the local people very well but that another story yeah you didnt know he is cheap . The only thing I can think of is that the Cavs are waiting to loose some of those BAD contracts Damon Ben Wally.Maybe Next year make a big splash when all those real free agents that are deserving of big contracts are free.I am just thinking out loud are giving a preminision of the future only time will tell. Be patient cavaliers faithfull the best is yet to come I can feel it or maybe its just gas .
