Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A look around the league and the web that covers it. It's also important to note that the rotation order and starting nods aren't always listed in order of importance. That's for you, dear reader, to figure out.

C: MPS. Marisa Miller is set to present D-Rose with his "What's Sexy Now Chicago Athlete" nomination.
PF: NY Daily. Knicks tell Eddy Curry(notes) to shape up and lose some weight before he can return to team.
SF: Hardwood Paroxysm. A look at each player's impact on his teammates' three-point shooting.
SG: Hip Hoop Junkies. And the Toronto Raptors "Tweet of the Season" goes to ...
PG: Celtics Hub. Knicks basketball: Catch the fever.
6th: SRI. Larry Bird talks about his upcoming induction into the Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame.
7th: Basketbawful. Do you want hair like Pistol Pete? Of course you do.
8th: BP. Good news: "Pro Basketball Prospectus 2009-10" is now available to buy on Amazon.com.
9th: X's and O's. Look out, NBA. Hakeem Olajuwon is showing Kobe Bryant(notes) his post moves.
10th: TIME. Author Malcolm Gladwell: "I remember once having a conversation with a top executive with the Toronto Raptors. I asked her about the stats revolution in basketball and she just kind of shrugged and said, 'It's interesting, and we look at those things, but you have to understand that for our purposes, it's all [about] character.' The thing that separates players is that some have a work ethic, some don't; some are coachable, some aren't; some party all night, some go to bed early. From her standpoint, it's all those intangibles."

With Farmar and Sasha virtually forgetting how to shoot a basketball last year...and with Artest and Morrison lighting it up this year...I imagine Kobe's numbers may sky rocket on that impact list.

Steven, I doubt it. The first list was how the player impacted how many threes were TAKEN while the player was on the floor. Lebron showed that his teammates shot more threes compared to when he wasn't on the floor. The 2nd list probably had more to do with lineups.

Kobe has always been a stop start kind of guy. It's like he wants to have to beat the defense on every play. Anytime he is handed the ball on a fast break he slows it down. That is the major part of his game that drives me nuts.

Their inability to make the three impacted their desire to take the three. If they start dropping...and with Morrison pushing Sasha to improve or sit...

So basically, the Knicks have told Eddy Curry not to come back to the team, because he's proven time and again that he won't lose weight or get in shape.

Kobe still wants to improve his nearly perfect game. Scary isn't it.
