    aw man, i'm going to really miss walton as a broadcaster. he annoyed me at first, but once he realized that he was pretty ridiculous, and embraced the superlative, he was the best guy behind the mike.

    Bill Walton the downest broadcaster in Television history! From San Diego to UCLA to the League, a deadhead for the ages. A great ambassador of basketball. His passion for the game is amazing, I couldn't listen to Bill Walton for more than 5 minutes without cracking up. Truly appreciated every time he was announcing the game or at the halftime show. Bill and Ralph made me a Clipper fan 4 life. "What is a Foul" Bill "What is a Foul".

    Walton sucked. Anytime another team pounded on the Lakers...the lakers were palying poorly....anytime another team played poorly and go beat by the Lakers...it was "The Laker Dominance".
    Guy has a serious hard on for the team his kid plays for......

    During the classic era of basketball during the 90's I thought he was the best there was. All the big games I have on tape during that time he is on them, and even the NBA Classics they show on TV now have him. In the last 5 years he lost his marbles during games, talking about anything but the game at hand. Maybe he's bored with it and thinks it's not worth his attention but Hubie is twice his age and can still focus on the game and give good insights. Walton was good in his day, but now is just a parody of himself.

    He was a bit annoying, said more than he needed, and always interjected some stupid random thoughts. I'm not going to miss him because I never listen to what the idiots are saying because I'm busy watching the game - like trying to filter out the kids or wife. I did appreciate his california cool and his hippy ways, which at least made him tolerable, something Costas could never say.

    Bill Walton was a great player, a great position coach and a great broadcaster, but the best basketball broadcaster in the history of the game was Chick Hearns, RIP.
