Splitting Hairs: Michael Beasley's ABA-style 'fro

We linked to Michael Beasley's(notes) 'fro in Monday's 10-Man Rotation, but something this glorious, this Lady Rage epic, deserves a post, photo and BDL category of its own. (Side note: Thoughts on Splitting Hairs, anyone? How about Coif Rock? Phenomenal Shag? I'm putting way too much thought into this.)

Ira Winderman of the South Forida Sun-Sentinel:

With braids out and 'fro full extended, the second-year Miami Heat power forward figured he measured in "at about seven foot one."

Whether the 'fro remains in place for Tuesday night's game against the visiting Washington Wizards is another story.

"I haven't decided yet," he said with a smile of the unkempt billow. "I don't know."

You can decide for yourself whether it's a good look, though be forewarned: SuperCoolBeas' teammates might sway your opinion.

Joel Anthony(notes) compared the new look to a "character from the 'Lion King,'" while others cracked all Beasley needed to complete his outfit was some shoes with goldfish in the bottom, like Antonio Fargas in the movie, "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka." Maybe he can play in similar kicks.

    #7 Actually, your terms are the incorrect ones... Nose candy does not refer to crack, it refers to cocaine.

    yea he does look pretty baked there... but i still like him as a player(he was ridiculous in college) he just needs to commit himself to the game and he could become great annnnd become the missing piece to put that team over the top

    I don't get why people feel the need to analyze Michael Beasleys drug use as if it is a notable topic. It's not like he is your friend and his personal issues should be your concern. I actually really feel for the kid, he seems to be trying his best to mature but the media is constantly prodding him, which is having a negative impact on his psyche.
    Everyone needs to chill and let this kid grow up at his own pace.
