Rumor du jour: Shaq getting shipped to the Suns?

Pau Gasol is traded to Los Angeles. New Jersey is looking to move Jason Kidd. Shaquille O'Neal might be getting shipped to Phoenix. I tell you; the NBA is absolutely craz-- WHOA! Hold up. What was that last one again?

Shaquille O'Neal might be getting shipped to Phoenix.

At least, that's the rumor in Florida.

From Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald:

The Heat has told center Shaquille O'Neal's representation that it is talking about trading him and he should be prepared for the possibility of a deal, according to two officials close to the situation. Phoenix has discussed sending forward Shawn Marion and point guard Marcus Banks to the Heat in return for O'Neal.

Asked for confirmation, one of O'Neal's representatives said O'Neal has been made aware that discussions with Phoenix are serious and ongoing, but that a deal was not definite.

Dallas also has been mentioned as a potential destination, though the Heat had not immediately informed O'Neal of that possibility.

I really can't begin to wrap my head around what Shaquille O'Neal operating in the Suns' run-and-gun offense would look like, but I keep picturing a dragon trying to play hopscotch, so take that as you will. What a rumor.

    I hope he goes to the Suns so when Kobe and company destroy him in the playoffs he will know he needs to retire! LAKERS WITH GASOL AND BYNUM AND COMPANY ALL THE WAY IN '08

    WOW!!! Marion and Banks for O'Neal.. for real?? That is the worst trade any team could make! Wait, this just in.... they have now threw in Amarie and Nash.. thats more even... The Suns are IDIOTS if they go through with this!!! Am i Right?

    The Superman/Shaq-Diesel/ ; if the trade information is true ; he'd fit right in with nash and the suns; nash/shaq ; the new 1 2 punch of the Phoenix suns ;that is if he has anything left in that Diesel tank of his ; if not ; he should retire and go be a Miami Sherriff somewhere in Florida ; cause that was Shaq's second dream instead of playin hoops ; he's be the tallest Sherriff in history ; just think getting arrested by Shaq ; just think about it just once ; what would you do if he caught you doing something that you should not be doing ???

    HUGE mistake for PHX...even though Marion is their 3rd best option on offense, he still much better than Shaq. This would be a BIG (no pun intended) down-grade

    Nobody wins it all without a bigC, that the point, Phoenix needs a big for the west, if it gets ina Half court game like it does sometimes in the Playoffs phoenix needs a center who can score, and amare cant in a Half court setup, would be a great trade geting Rid of A'hole Marion who is not liked by anyone in phoenix
