I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Sam Cassell probably couldn't throw this dunk down ... with or without Elliot Thomas' flying bike.
Great dunk, but I have one bone to pick. Tommy, I know you're the ultimate homer and all -- but please, the referees didn't let Jason Maxiell "getaway" with a hard foul. Maxiell made a fair play on the ball, Rondo put himself out there, and the much lighter man hit the floor. It's called basketball. It happens. Thank you.
(Video via Odenized, of course.)

Technically ... Rondo's dunk was 'over' Maxiell, not Rip.
In your position, you should get the lingo straight.

Rondo blew past Rip and he just beat Maxiell to the rim. But I took "Rip" out of the title. Fair call, khandor.

In general terms, where you at in the GTA?
Who knows, man ... one day down-the-road, maybe we can hook-up to share a tall (NBA) tale or two.

This play was dangerous for Rondo, period. The smaller player hit the floor, you said? Sure he did, he was body checked in midair. What did you expect would happen? There is no reason why it should be tolerated. I wonder what happens if Iverson was on the receiving end of this. Or, indeed, TJ Ford.

He does know the game and is obviously biased for the Celtics. Rondo made a great play, and Maxiell hit him in mid-air. That SHOULD have been a flagrant b/c it's clear he wasn't making a play on the ball. The ball had already been thrown down and Rondo was on his way down when he got hit and driven into the floor.
Once again, I'm no Celtics fan. I'm a fan of the game, and that was a bad no-call. Unless something creepy happens, Celtics vs Spurs in the NBA Finals. You saw it here....
