R.I.P. Gilbert Arenas' beard, 2010-2010

The beard, she's a gone.

Or, soon will be. Gilbert Arenas(notes) hasn't actually gone under the razor yet, but in a post-practice conversation between Gilbert and Washington Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, overheard by Washington Post reporter Michael Lee, Arenas confirmed to his boss that his beard's days are numbered.

"This," Arenas told Leonsis, "was a preseason look."

Well, I wish Gilbert weren't so flip about it. Because while it lasted, that beard was a glorious thing. It was more than "a preseason look." It was a look for the ages.

For some reason, "Nobody Does It Better" is going through my head right now.
