Poorly disguised Nash joins Beijing pick-up game

Suns guard Steve Nash(notes) showed up in disguise at a Beijing pick-up game over the weekend, hoping to shoot some hoops incognito. Unfortunately, he forgot his fake mustache and monocle.

"I had on a Chinese opera bandana and I had on some protective goggles," Nash told the AFP, laughing.

"As soon as I walked on they recognized me. It didn't really work."

Really? Could have fooled me. I thought that was Horace Grant.

Nash is in China for the week doing promotional and charity work. After a few three-on-three half-court games with local regulars, Captain Canada crossed over to the nearby soccer pitch to play a little footy.

    steve nash is the best nba player outside of the nba - similar to peyton manning outside of the nfl..... just look up steve nash vitamin water commercials, or steven nash and byron davis on youtube.... awesome

    If Steve Nash were black he would be more accepted by some in the US... He's only one of the top 5-7 PG's in the league right now, nothing major.
    unguardable jump shot, great pick-and-roll guard, great vision, he's basically Jason Kidd with a good shooting touch... JK circa 2007+ that is. He could never D it up like Kidd, but Kidd could never shoot like Nash.

    Point of information.
    For others around the world, the term "footy" actually refers to Australian Rules Football ... not the beautiful game, itself.
    Wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of the footy-loving folk around the globe. :-)
