plus lebron played 8 more minutes then kobe
    and rebounds are very missleading

Lebron chasing Kobe. But Kobe is chasing Michael. There's the difference. One is chasing a contemporary who is better than he is. The other is chasing the all-time great.

lets give some credit to the knick's defense for allowing this. im pretty sure the van gundy's knick team won't allow this to ever happen.

At the end of the day the record stays at 61 doesn't it? It doesn't count the rebounds and the assists. Just Kobayashi's 61 pts. The only record Lebron broke is his own. Nice try though.

RD - i agree, you've got my "yes". Crabron James broke his own Record by 2 points. Thats why crabalier fans called him the king. The King of Cleavageland Crabalier.

Queen Crabron James needs to play 58 minutes to break KB24 record at MSG. 4 - quarter & 2 OT and he can finally get 60 points not 61points.

its amazing how the general media always pat lebron on the back and find ways to cut kobe down....hell, even david stern does it. kobe, the world's greatest overachieving underdog. 36 minutes, 61% shooting, not a lot of the to the basket/dunks, 2 bad fingers and on and on...still no love. shot over 50% for almost a month (before his injury), no love. had 10 assists games, a kobe no-no, no love. i mean, what is everyone waiting for, the guy to croak before y'all sit back and do the james dean, marilyn monroe, john belushi, sympathetic :the best of our times label? no cut on lebron, he is great. magnificent. but c'mon, everyone wants him to achieve, to be great, to take the mantle. same people want kobe to fail. lebron would crack with that much negativity pointed at him, much less play b-ball. bottomline, kobe still holds the mantle as greatest, and yup some of you said it, msg record is his. so mr. media, go ahead, declare your favoritism, but records are used as references, and kobe, is the refence standard in this day and age.

lucky for kobe, lebron got many missed shots. if 80% of lebron's shots went in and all of his FT went in then kobe will be lost hahaha....
and LBJ got 10 rebs and 11 assist with 2 blocks folks! while you kobe fans whinning about 61 points , kobe still plays selfish.. even if you guys tell me that hes a shooting guard, hes still a guard, he must even have 5 assist, but only 3? lebron passes more than him and hes a SF.... well thats ok for now.... LBJ will be way ahead of kobe in the future if you rank them....

are you serious 15. if lebron hit 80%, well is lebron had 3 championship rings he would be tied with kobe. shoulda coulda woulda, kobe is the greatest basketball player since jordan, there has been no one better than him since jordan left. and if you want to talk about selfish lebron almost killed his teammate trying to grab that last rebound so that he can get his triple double. every player has his thing, i.e malone had scoring, stockton had assist, lebron has triple doubles, kobe wants scoring and jordan had championships. which makes jordan the best ever, kobe the best in this generation and lebron nowhere in the top 10 of greatest players ever and until he comes up with a ring he aint breaking the top 5 in this generation

#15, if if if. If "IF" was a fifth we'd all be drunk. You cant throw out IF's as if they matter. Hell if thats the case, IF Kobe played 44mins he would have had 70+. IF Kobe had all his fingers another 81pt game? IF Kobe played selfish wouldnt he have way more games like this?? When he goes into a zone, there's nothing that can be done. You seem like the typical Kobe hater. Is Lebron the truth? Of course, but you have to give Kobe his credit too. He used to play selfish, but once he stopped thats when they named him MVP. He doesnt have to anymore, he has talent around him. You should try watching the games with your eyes opened from now on.

"lucky for kobe, lebron got many missed shots. "
    - Lucky for KOBE. Joseph?.... in the first place, KOBE isn't praying for LBJ to surpass his record of 61.
"if 80% of lebron's shots went in and all of his FT went in then kobe will be lost hahaha...."
    - but he did not made it did he?
kobe still plays selfish.. even if you guys tell me that hes a shooting guard, hes still a guard, he must even have 5 assist, but only 3? lebron passes more than him and hes a SF.... well thats ok for now.... LBJ will be way ahead of kobe in the future if you rank them.... "
    - i'll agree with you if on the night, KOBE did not even pass the ball to his team mates. He made many passes but the receive could not just convert them. So he is not selfish. Because as you may not know, assists means you pass the ball and the receiver made the basket. So even if you have 0 assist in your stat, that doesn't mean you did not pass the ball at all.

Some foo said 'if lebron makes 80% of his shots' ... that foo couldnt shoot 80% with 33 shots attempted even if they lowered the court. Kobe shot 61% Lebron shot 51% both great numbers... only one wins. Kobe made 20 for 20 FT and lebron went 16 for 19.... both again great stats... only one wins! rebounds are more team oriented... cavs had 2 guys over 10 (lebron 10 and wally 13, ben wallace had 1!!!) Lakers had gasol and odom grab 14 reb a piece! why would kobe need to grab 14 of his own? here is my favorite stat... KOBE played almost 37 mins and Lebron played 44 mins to get his... hmmm... one wins. That's called EFFICIENCY! Lebron will be a great player one day.

    These comparisons bore me: Kobe/McGrady, Kobe/Vince, Kobe/Wade, Kobe/Lebron.
Kobe is the greatest offensive player in the history of the game, and Lebron is Lebron.

There isn't one player on LeBron's team as talented as Gasol yet Kobe doesn't put up the assists that James does. If I'm starting a team from scratch I'll take James over Kobe. Basketball is still a team game, for the most part.

So many stupid people comments lol.
Bron played way more minutes than kobe and kobe was much more efficient if we're comparing the MSG games. As for the retards comparing stats please watch the cavs lakers game and watch how much more Lebron has the ball. Lebron is in a very favorable offensive system for stats. He's the focal point. 90% of the time a cavs possession ends with Lebron shooting, or passing to the person who shoots.
