As if you needed another reason to watch Game 1 of the Lakers-Rockets series this evening, word is that Houston forward Ron Artest may "pity the Kobe" just a little more than normal.

Richard Justice of the Houston Chronicle explains:

Are you ready for Ron Artest with a mohawk? If that sight doesn’t rattle the Los Angeles Lakers, nothing will.
Advantage, Rockets.
"I've been trying to avoid it," Artest said Sunday afternoon, "but I'm not going to renege on my deal."
He promised to get the haircut if the Rockets got out of the first round of the playoffs, and Von Wafer intends to make sure he has it by tipoff of Game 1 tonight.
"I never should have made the deal," Artest said.

Oh, but we're so happy you did, Ron-Ron. We're so happy you did.

Artest is Garbage but, I must admit there playing better with out the choke artist himself, Mr. Tracy I can't make it through the first round Mc Grady! Bottom line is the Lakers shut them down in this series and they end up watching the rest of the playoffs at home! Lakers in 5. Kobe dominates Artest for the 100th time. No contest for the Lakers.

One thing I learned after the Blazers v Rockets series is that Ron Artest is actually a pretty funny guy. He was not a thug like people had him pegged as.
I can't believe how many Laker "fans" there are in the world.

But if he gets cut just right he'd look like the pointy headed sub-human that he is. You know the Mr. Hyde figure in movies like League of Extraordinary Gentleme or Van Helsing. The pointed headed subhuman low life that's Ron Artest.

Rockets will win their first game and will shock the NBA world when they take the series in 6 games. Rockets have nothing to loose, all the pressure to win the title is with the Lakers.

Artest doesn't have the head shape for a mohawk. It will look bad because of how his forehead and up is shaped.

I was listening to our local sports station on the radio and they had the Laker announcer on today and he said he already has his ticket for Cleveland ready so he and probably the rest of the Laker organization are already looking past the next two rounds. I hope they keep thinking that way. I'd like to see them get smoked by the Rockets. Then we could hear the Lakers say "that wasn't the real Lakers out there". We'll see.......... never to wise to take your opponent for granted.

Lakers have no interior defense and Gasol has butterfingers. Fisher needs to be on the bench, Brooks is running circles around him. Bring in Farmar, even if he's an idiot. And these calls in the last couple of minutes are just awful. Lakers are gonna lose this one, people. Dang.
