Obsessionism's NBA team 'Heat Maps'

"What makes a player clutch? Are there clutch coaches? Are there clutch teams? When someone says that there isn't a mathematical equation for clutch, is there an inferential chart that may help identify it? Or does it just give fodder for people to read what they want into the data?"

Those were the questions Ben Munson of Obsessionism had in mind as he developed the above NBA Team Heat Maps. And while I could try and explain what Ben's graphs do and do not tell, it's probably just easier if you check 'em out yourself. (Ex. My ad lib analysis: The Knicks look like an iceberg.)

i think your articles are getting boring and that there are no more better ideas that can be put on ,even the fantasy articles are getting worst, advising owners to pick up ariza when odom is currently injured is simply idiotic , duh!!! instead of ariza the better option to advise to take a look is radmanovic or fisher in some leagues fisher is available and they are both more consistent to give statiscal numbers than ariza, i guess the person who put out that article don't follow the nba that much, there are a lot of us fantasy owners who are smarter to get ariza duh!!!!

I got news for all of you...the reports of the Celtics early demise are exaggerated and false. They are back baby. Hope you missed them because they will be playing your team again soon.

Does anybody know what that means??? There is a lot of season left, we will see who survives and who endures, there are some very good teams gunning for the title and i think The Celtics are definately looking very fragile! Who will have the least amount of injuries will be in the #1 position. Oh, this heat scale thing is idiotic, might as well open the tarot cards!!

all i get from this is that the spurs, suns, pistons, and mavs have been the most consistent top teams for the past 5 years. i guess the blazers are the top clutch team in the league since they seem to consistently get a good number of close games.

to post number 9... radmanovic has been playing like crap.. he is not consistent in the least bit.. fisher on the other hand shoots one kind of shot.. and thats the long jump shot, so hes not very consistent.. ariza ranks tops in the league for steals per 48 minutes.. he is also one of Phil's favorite player because he works hard on both ends of the floor.. with odom out, ariza will definitely get more production and minutes.. so obviously your not one of those "smarter fantasy owners" that you claim to be.. your just stupid and trying to make others look the same
