Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Spud Webb.

Dwight Howard.

Yao Ming standing on an apple box.

That seemed like Nate Robinson's natural next leap, right?

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like we're going to see it.

Via Sports Radio Interviews and Real GM, the New York Knicks guard and two-time Sprite Slam Dunk champion said in an interview on ESPN Radio New York with Michael Kay recently that he isn't likely to defend his title next season. Boo!

"I'll probably retire. I've been it in four times," Robinson told Kay.

Translation: "All the green in the world won't stop LeBron from winning this thing. Now give me my damn watch!"

Why stop at lebron lets load this up with the greatest dunkers of all time...Vince Carter, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, and maybe not what he used to be but for nostalig sake Kevin Garnett.
Now thats a slam-dunk contest lineup only seen in video games

yea...has nothing to do with lebron, i wouldnt possibly be able to think of any more dunks and lebron probably will win just because his name just how howard and robinson got into the final this year because howard scored way too high of those 1st dunks because fernandez got screwed on his scores

Good, It was a disgrace he won this year,
Maybe the NBA can get rid of the skills challenge and put together a new joke-of-a-competition for next year..
    The Great Jump
They'll composite jump height with athlete height and whoever has the best score wins $10,000 and a new P.O.S. from Ford or Chevy (if they still exist).

guy wants to be taken more seriously and play in the real game on sunday...he had an awesome month in february, if he keeps it up he'll be turning a lot more heads than he does at the dunk contest.

There's not much more he can do. He's done his part in the dunk contest & now its someone else's turn to take the crown!! LeBron James is the next Slam Dunk Champion!! It doesn't matter who else you put in the contest

I dont know why the NBA want just let the ANd1 guys in. The NBA guys Kenney, Reggie, etc keep taking about people have seen all of the dunks before. There is a guy with the And1 crew that can do a 720. I would the world to be able to see that. No one can say they have see than in an NBA dunk contest. Beside, the cash prizes would mean way more to the ANd1 guys than already millions like Lebron, Nate, Dwight, etc!!!

Pound for pound Nate Robinson is the toughest, strongest, athletic, entertaining, feistiest and has more heart than any point guard of all time. You can't say the word little man again because of Nate Robinson. He has more grit and determination than any point guard that has ever played. He is also the quickest.

Maybe Nate can bring out an 8 foot ring, just like Dwight Howard brought out a 12 foot ring. Then Nate can do his dunks on the 8 foot ring while everyone else does their's on the regulation rim.

you can tell who does not follow the sport or the player. Prior to this years dunk contest, and as soon as it was over when Miller was trying to tell nate that Labron was entering the contest next year Nate had said this was it. Plus if you watch the game Labron is a Strong POWER dunker not a show dunker.....

rudy being in the dunk contest was scary simply because nobody thought he was going to do anything but catch a couple of Oops and reverse them, but he put up 2 strong dunks that didnt get credit because people had their minds made up already that Dwight and Nate were going on to the second round. This is why they should pull new contestants every year...automatic advancement to the 2nd round because people anticipated huge things and then were disappointed because they really shouldnt have been there was a huge gaffe. Glad Nate won't be back next year, and hopefully Dwight doesn't get in it either and we can get back to dunks, not skits.
