LeBron James wants to dunk on George W. Bush

In a recent interview with Maxim.com, Cavaliers superstar LeBron James (notes), who was in fact dunking on a regulation rim before the age of one, was asked who he would most like to be able to posterize.

His answer was a little surprising:

If it doesn't have to be a basketball player, George W. Bush. I would dunk on his ass, break the rim, and shatter the glass.

Well, former President Bush, never one to avoid biting off more than he can chew, issued this trash talking response. Take a look, but please, no video recording or flash photography! Dubya is also with Nike.

Update: BTPH has a good idea: Bush should judge the All-Star Weekend dunk contest in Dallas this year and participate by trying to swat one of LeBron's attempts. We'll give him a trampoline and everything.

I never voted for Bush, but that's just disrespectful. Would be interesting to see how people would react if, for example, Jerred Allen used similar terms to express a desire to put a hit on Obama. I'm not necessarily trying to start the firestorm that may follow this comment, but it's something to consider. Let's all be respectful here.

I thought LeBron didn't like to talk politics. Remember the whole Darfur/China thing where he wasn't well-informed enough to take a stand? Or was it that he didn't want to lose all that endorsement $ from the Chinese market?

lebron should stick to basketball. Sure, bush was a questionable leader and made alot f bad decisions but i bet Lebron couldnt tell you anything about politics. I hate people who say they hate bush jsut because its the "cool" and "edgy" thing to do. Bush left office almst a year ago, and hasnt done much since, leave the guy alone, the whole anti-establishment fad is over.

Just shows how Lebron plastic is. Remember how much he sucked up to W. and even Laura (the daughter), now you get this statement from him. Lebron is just plainly pathetic, he should just grow up and not try to please everybody.
