Lakers favored by Vegas to repeat as champions

Sun Yue(notes) hasn't even finished his bottle of Moët yet and oddsmakers have already released the odds to win the 2009-2010 NBA championship. (Man, they sure don't waste any time down there in Vegas. I think they might have a gambling problem.)

Yes, with their dominant 99-86 victory over the Orlando Magic in Game 5 of the NBA Finals, the Los Angeles Lakers became the latest NBA champion and — surprise, surprise — oddsmakers from online sports book Sports.com like them to repeat as champs next year at sound 5/2 odds.

Clearly oddsmakers think coach Phil Jackson will stick around for another year and that Lakers' ownership will drop enough free agency coin to keep both Lamar Odom(notes) and Trevor Ariza(notes) in the purple and gold.

After L.A., comes Cleveland and The King at 3/1, Boston and Kevin Garnett's(notes) guarantees at 5/1 and the Eastern Conference champs Orlando at 7/1. The Nuggets round out the top five teams at 12/1, while the Spurs (15/1), Rockets (15/1), Blazers (20/1) and Jazz (20/1) complete your best bets.
