Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Put down the razor blade, turn off the gas, and take your head out of the oven, Trail Blazers fans — your team is still penciled in to win six of the next eight NBA championships.

All-star guard Brandon Roy underwent quick and successful arthroscopic knee surgery on Thursday. The Blazers expect him to be out just 4-8 weeks, which means he'll be back in the line-up for the team's season opener against the Lakers. Here's video of Kevin Pritchard's reaction:

Portland has a lot going for them right now...I expect playoffs this year and then possible championship within the next 5 years...especially if all the top players go overseas to play...

Too bad. I was hoping we would see Rudy Fernandez in action.

I expected much more whooping, hollering and praising of [insert deity of your choice], but maybe that's just me.

Being a fan of the Blazers, we are extremely fortunate to have this man in charge of things. He seems like a very up-front business savvy guy, who won't hesitate to make the decisions that need to be made. I can't wait to see what the team does this year.

Thank Jesus for Kevin pritchard. He is a genius for building this team and he is even smarter for being cautious with his players' medical issues. He is smart enough to know that Oden should have been operated on last year (when he could have played) rather than let him play now and need the surgery later. I think the Roy situation is the same deal; he could have let it slide, but figured why not have the surgery before the season, rather than at the end of the season as we make our playoff push. I trust everything this man ever does.

Yeah, if it weren't for KP, I highly doubt I would still be a Blazers fan. Brandon Roy, Greg Oden, and Lamarcus Aldridge may be the faces of the franchise on the court, but KP is in my mind the face of the franchise period. If it weren't for him we wouldn't be in the position we're in now.

Prich is a class-act. True fans owe him for the work he's been able to do in Portland.

What a relief for Portland. How can a team be hit with two devastating setbacks. I'll be rooting for this team to make the playoffs.

David Stern's nightmare: 76'ers vs. Blazers within the next couple of years. T.V. ratings? How low can you go?

Heres the West Ranking for 2008-2009:
    1. Lakers (If they can stay healthy. They made it to the Finals WITHOUT Bynum. Imagine them WITH him)
    2. Houston (McGrady played well the last 40 games for Houston and with Yao and Artest? Cmon now)
    3. New Orleans (They are young and talented. CP3 will be amazing)
    4. San Antonio (They are old, but a team with Duncan, Parker, and Ginobli? Too good to not be ranked atleast 4)
    5. Utah (I dont think they will be any better this year, but they get 5 cuhz they will probably win their division)
    6. Portland (You cant expect portland to be GREAT this year because they are still gettin adjusted and use to eachother. I predict they will be 1-3 next year)
    7. Phoenix (Face it Nash and Shaq are getting old. Stoudemire will dominate but overall I don’t see them doin well) 8. Mobley, Davis, Thornton, Camby, and Kaman as starters with Gordan, R. Davis, J-Will coming off the bench? Too good)
    9. Dallas (They are goin downhill. They will be lucky to get the 8 spot.)

Portland will definitely win a Championship soon but not now. They may have a lot of great players but they will need time to get use to one another. They will use this year to get adjusted and definitely make it to the playoffs, however, they may not win it all. They wil have a betetr shot next year

I believe the Blazers WILL make the playoffs this season but won't make it out of the 1st rd maybe 2nd rd.Just because they'll be first timers there, but after they've made the playoffs I see a Championship coming are way by 2010 as long as they stay together and play together.
    GO BLAZERS!!!!!!

Hmm Where are all the Laker Fans at... Well I would be interested in this matchup because of Greg Oden and my team and I would LOVE to see a rematch with the Celtics this time with Gasol and Bynum even though bad on Gasol for the pics. I would like to see how Sun Yue would react when going to Laker training camp?

Lakers vs Blazers on Game Opener:
Bynum Oden (Pretty equal but Bynum has more experience. Oden has not played in one NBA game)
Gasol = Aldrige (They are both 7 feet, good defenders, and can knock the outside jumper)
Lamar All of Portland's SFs (Lamar has the size advantage and is very quick)
Kobe Roy ( Kobes the Best Player in the Game. Enough Said)
Fisher = Bayless (Bayless is a better Scorer but Fisher is a great defender.)

Lakers, Blazers, Hornets, and Rockets will OWN the NBA. These 4 teams will win the NBA Championship for the next 10 years!!Boston, San Anontino, Detroit, and Pheonix will never get another shot at the title.

Ex-sonics semi-fan = New Blazers super fan. Not just because they will be way better than the 'OKC Tornado-Magnets.' More because they have Roy (Seattle connection) and you just have to respect the way that Pritchard has rebuilt this team in such a short time span when it takes other organizations years and years.

I have'nt been this excieted since Clyde the Glide and Terry Porter days. We (Blazer fans) have had to suffer and endure all the ridicule (Jail blazer's) for so many years. It is now our time to shine. I just hope that the NBA, no the World is ready for the new and improved PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS!!!!!!!!!!!
