Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Golden State at Phoenix

A few years in, and it's as close to a rule as we get here at BDL's game previewin' division: Golden State and Phoenix play, and you watch.

No excuses. I don't care if the 1996 Bulls and the 1967 76ers are going at it on free TV, somehow broadcast in hi-def through rabbit ears with Marv Albert, Mike Fratello, and Hubie Brown working the call. Don't care if The Meters are working the bumper music, or if they're giving away free balloons for the kids.

If the Suns and Warriors are playing, you watch. You get four times a year to watch this brilliant mess, and I don't care what sort of pre-Halloween parties you have to make an appearance at ... you watch.

There's also, as slyly intimated with the picture above, a bit of intrigue. Either team thinks of the other as the duller one, the one that doesn't get it. Either side says, "yeah, we shoot and run a bit, but it's the [other team] that gives shooting and running a bad name." Plus, both teams like Stephen Curry(notes). Plus, both teams have no idea what to do with Amar'e Stoudemire(notes).

So watch, because you can dig for free, and because it's the Warriors and the Suns. Legally required.

Be safe, trick or treaters.

digg delicious

It must be a league requirement that if a player is going to buy headphones, they have to be Beats By Dre headphones.

so which is it, PSMTC? First people say refs love the Lakers, then they say (your words) "are jobbing the Lakers right now". Besides, when you lose by 20, you can hardly blame the refs. As an unbiased observer watching this game, you are wrong. Stop blaming the damn refs everytime as an excuse. It's annoying.

Angloamer, the answer to your question is: basketball fans, like me. If you would rather watch womens field hockey, then why are you here? this is an NBA blog.

"People" say refs love the Lakers because "people" don't see the refs fall for Dallas flops five times in a row. I made that comment early in the third, when they were still in the game. That the Lakers promptly laid an egg all on their own once LO and Artest got techs doesn't mean the refs didn't have a one-sided, preseason-league quarter and a half of officiating.

PSMTC - stop blaming the refs. Your team lost. It is just one game. Get over it.

Sooo ... some inept idiot at League Pass Broadband wasn't able to switch the feed for an hour and a half until I gave up out of frustrstion. If that's the kind of service to expect, I'm glad I've learned not to actually spend any money on it.
