Toronto may have faltered a bit in the team's win over Charlotte on Sunday, but iffy wins like that tend to go both ways for great teams. It could mean the Raptors could be on the verge of some nasty, nasty stuff; or not having all hands on deck against the Bobcats could be all the wakeup call the team needs. I've no idea what to expect.
Here's a wakeup call for the Celtics: STOP TURNING THE RUDDY BALL OVER!
The defending champs are still turning the ball over once in every five possessions, which is a ton, and it is no doubt aiding in the team's pretty poor overall offensive marks this season. Maybe if Dana Barros would stop pushing off on Damon Stoudamire (above) on his drives to the basket, things would be different. They better shape up, soon.
Luckily for Boston, they'll be at home, and the Raptors (20th) aren't all that great at forcing turnovers. Unlucky for Boston, Jermaine O'Neal has yet to have a breakout game offensively, and though it isn't supposed to be JON's job to drop 20 these days, a few ill-timed hacks from Kendrick Perkins could send O'Neal to the line and change all that.
Five games tonight. The Trail Blazers have flown all the way across the continental 48 in order to take on the Magic, two nights after downing the Timberwolves in a close one, and I'd be mighty impressed if they could pull out a win even over an unimpressive Magic team. The Thunder is in Indiana (also, Oklahoma City faces the Pacers), Miami will be up in New Jersey, and the Suns will be up to meet Memphis.
Boston Celtics: 6-1, 94.4 possessions per game (6th most in the NBA), 98.8 points scored per 100 possessions (27th in the NBA), 91.8 points allowed per 100 possessions (2nd in the NBA). Mama Tried.
Toronto Raptors: 4-2, 88.6 possessions per game (27th), 105.8 points scored per 100 possessions (14th), 105 points allowed per 100 possessions (15th). Are the Good Times Really Over?
