The Bizzaro dunk doesn't seem so bad.

plus, what would J.J. even know about dunking he shouldn't be on the committee, but he would actually be a good fit for the 3 point competition.

Ryan O, don't be a tool. The whole point of the Superman dunk was to be up high enough that he could throw it through the hoop. He single handedly revived the dunk contest. And, I doubt you are going to see something as simple as the 12 foot dunk when he can kiss the rim and windmill it on the way down.

as a Magic fan- I have to ask: why J.J.? Can the guy get any respect? Can't wait to see D-12 defend the dunk championship, though...

No kidding, how can anyone hate on the guy that practically brought back to life the seemingly dead dull and dying competition that is known as the slam dunk competetion. If for no other reason give Howard some props for that.

Ok, the Superman wasn't technically a dunk.
So what? The conpetition is to show creativity, flair and stun the fans with what they are not permitted to do in the game. No doubt DH deserves the win last year. I still think on his other jams he could have put more power, a-la Dom Wilks.
Ideas for this year - 12' would be cool (providing it is delivered with authority and not a skin-of your-teeth-reach). Can you dunk on 10', let alone 12'?? Give respect where it is due.
You want a 360 alleyoop! Get practising for 6 months and you should time it down to a T.
I don't like the gimmicks like a bleedin birthday cake or sweaty socks. Next they will be jumping through hoops of fire (I mean please!).

JJ dunks pre-game during Magic warmups. Jameer is the only one I haven't seen dunk, he grabs the bottom of the net and does a pull up. Remember Shaq was taking down backboards in his early years with the Magic.
Arizza (now with Lakers) and Dooling (now with Nets) were the recent explosive jammers & Tracy McGrady did the off the backboard dunks during games.
I credit Coach Ewing with a lot of D-12's development & I feel should be on Dwight's dunk committee rather than Battie or at least rookie Courtney Lee.
