Channeling a young Shaquille O'Neal, Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard(notes) knocked out a 24-second shot clock above the basket with a ferocious — though fairly routine — dunk during Wednesday's Eastern Conference final against the Cavaliers. Play was stopped for eight minutes. Take a look:
Thank goodness the Magic didn't play in Atlanta — Spirit The Hawk would've been Dwight's dinner.
A maintenance crew came out with ladders but couldn't fix the 5-foot-tall appendage. The shot clock at the opposite end was turned off and two portable units were placed on both baselines. A tape measure was then brought out to check if Howard had pulled the rim lower than its required 10 feet. NBA officials deemed it okay, but then Dwight tied on a Superman cape, asked them to raise the rim to 12-feet and things got weird.

Cleveland needed this loss tonight to wake 'em back up. We're going to come back after a loss like this, more powerful than you could have ever possibly imagined. Good luck, NBA, you'll need it now.
