Ball Don't Lie - NBA

It's fun to see how different players spent their summer vacations. Some spend them playing for the U.S. National Team, others just work out. Sometimes players get married or travel, but Chris Andersen(notes) has another hobby that he enjoys during the NBA break — getting tattoos. Check his neck, the picture on the left is from before last season, and the one on the right is from Sunday.

As far as I can tell, that's a "Free" on one side and a "Bird" on the other. Clearly he's a big Lynyrd Skynyrd fan. That's too bad.

Judging from the rest of his body, I'd say this little neck piece is just getting started. I mean, every other tattoo is in full-color, I'd imagine this one will be eventually. And really, you can't blame him for wanting to split up several million needle-sticks to the neck into a couple different sessions. That's just good planning.

However, I'm a little bit worried about the Birdman. No, not because he's going to have a neck tattoo for the rest of his life. I'm worried about him wanting more tattoos. He's almost out of room, and if DeShawn Stevenson(notes) has taught us anything, it's that face tattoos are horrible.

There is nothing inherently wrong with being a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan.

He will live to regret covering his body with these tattoo's as they fade into an ugly mess. A walking billboard to stupidity.

From one "Birdman" to the next. He's clearly paying homage to Koko B. Ware with those white shades.
But who cares.. F*ck Andersen and the Nuggets. Couldn't even get out of the first round of the playoffs with a deep roster like that. All they know how to do is run their mouth and choke when it counts.

    Mr. Clark
I get what your saying, but do you think that he's a thug and pos cause he has tattoos? Because from your post I would think not, just cause of what he does. See what i'm talking about is all the people who post stupid racist comments about mostly black players because of their tattoos.. I can understand some of their view points based on stupid things that the players do on and off the court, but does that really have anything to do with them having tattoos? I think it's just that their immature people with to much time and money on their hands. Would these same people classify me as a Thug? I grew up in the ghetto, I have tattoos, but I also work hard for a living to give my family the life they deserve... Basically what i'm saying is that if you want to think that a player is a thug thats your opinion, but don't base it on the fact that he has ink on him.

first of all the "do they ever think about how they'll look when they're older" crap doesnt matter, we all will be old with wrinkles and smell bad and gross. the tats will fade and look bad, but the rest of their bodies will look like [profane] anyway. ie. sir charles. wake up people, bashing tattoos is the most pointless of arguments about these players and the lives they lead. they could all be completely covered as long as most of them take some kind of attitude classes. lets focus on the kobe bryants and lebron james' of the league who think they are a god. those guys are as bad of role models as this fool, and much less entertaining to watch.
