Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Earmuffs, 53% of you. Earmuffs. Celtics general manager Danny Ainge was named the league's Executive of the Year earlier today. Golf buddy Kevin McHale — oops, sorry. Bad habit. Ainge helped orchestrate the greatest turnaround in NBA history by acquiring eventual Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, as the Celtics improved by 32 games. Danny received 18 of the possible 47 votes, edging out Mitch Kupchak of the Lakers, who received 14. Hornets GM Jeff Bower finished a not-so-distant third for reasons unknown.

Yeah the Jeff Bower choice is pretty puzzling. That's just the media jumping on the bandwagon rather than doing actual research, as is the norm.

    Au contraire.
The reason for this is, in fact, well known ...
The Actual Winner of this Award is rarely, if ever, THE person who did 'the best job' as an Executive that given year for his NBA team.
Truth is almost always stranger than fiction.

I don't know if Ray Allen is a sure fire hall of famer, but those trades Ainge pulled off were great.

McHale should share the award with him for agreeing to a deal that gave him nothing much in return. There were better deals out there. He could've had Andrew Bynum and Lamar Odem plus draft picks and he gave Garnett to his friend and team-mate instead. The Lakers are now quite grateful he did especially the way Boston's playing under pressure in these playoffs. Thanks Kevin!

LJ...the unknown reasons are for why Bower got any votes at all. It's obvious to anyone who paid attention that he didn't actually do any grand GMing.

older than moses lol the lakers are in the same position as the Celtics, or didnt you notice ? They are both leading their series 3-2 , you should put lipstick on your butt if you want to talk out of it and the Celtics didnt get KG for nothing, they Got Delonte west who scored 20 last night for the overrated Cavs, they also got Big Al who is in his youth and getting better every year and also Ryan Gomes who is a good role player, pay attention or dont try to grab other peoples attention with words without knowledge
