Wittman never wears a pocket square, so this was a little more difficult to slip by him ...

Yes, the Minnesota Timberwolves finally fired coach Randy Wittman on Monday, two days after an embarrassing 23-point loss at home to the Clippers. It was Witt's 105th loss in just 143 career games.

Kevin McHale, the team's craptastic vice president of basketball operations, will take over coaching duties. He was 19-12 in 2005 when he took over coaching duties after he fired Flip Saunders.

Unfortunately, head coach candidate Jesus Christ was not available for comment.

Hopefully this is similar to the Isiah situation and he goes down with this ship he's had enough time to built.

Well Skeets, you called that one. Do you think Mchale is now being set up to finally be fired? After all, this is the team he built.

Tough Break he was an average player and a worse coach. Can't win with average players either, so unless they get a superstar player it doesn't matter who the coach is, John Wooden couldn't help this franchise.

This is Glen Taylor's plan. He knows Mchale will go down like Isiah and leave the door wide open for the next guy Taylor will give unconditional free reign to, Fred Hoiberg.

It takes about 3 seasons/yrs in any athletic program to see how good the winning situation will be. It takes time to get the kind of players the coach wants to fit his system. Time for those players to get comfortable and know how to execute it. Time through attrition to remove the players that don't fit.
Unfortunately, owners and fans don't have the understanding or patience. Our society has lost its perspective.

mchale has made one good draft choice (kg) in the ten+ years he's been with us. can we please just recognize that the main problem is mchale and his s*** draft choices and free agent deals? good lord. I can only pray he isn't the one making the decisions when we have 4 first rounders next year. otherwise we'll end up with more picks like ndudi ebi pick instead of josh howard

Mcfail needs to be fire. Glen Tatlor is a bald head bastard that doesnt have any ball. When garnett left mcfail should have gone with him. mostly mcfail is going to give the ball to al and keep him in forever. but also love is going to finally get some clock. im only a fan of the players but its hard to cheer when the team is a pick up whoever is available. time will tell how long jefferson, love, and foye will stay.
P.S. GET RID OF MCCANTS HE PUTS UP 30 AND ONLY MAKES 2.

I got excited for a few seconds when I saw this. Then I remembered that it's still the same roster, and Mark Madsen and Jason Collins are still on it. Yuck.

I hate seeing coaches fired this early. But who could win with this roster? Not even the Phil Jackson could win with these guys. They are starting to look like the Bobcats..a ton of college stars..should've kept mayo

I thought the Garnett trade was decent as Al Jefferson is gonna be great.
McHale really msessed up by trading Brandon Roy and now OJ Mayo. U put Brandon Roy and OJ Mayo with Al Jefferson, and that would be the making of a nice nucleus for years to come.

yea I am sure if they hire someone like Phil Jackson the team will be playoff bound.
Be realistic. Certain teams just dont belong to this league no matter what coach you put. They are still going to be pathetic. Just look at the warriors.
