Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Ivan Carter of the Washington Post reports:

Gilbert Arenas confirmed that he underwent a surgical procedure this morning that "cleaned out some debris" in his left knee. Arenas, who has undergone two surgeries to repair the left knee in the last two seasons, has been limited during the rehab process all summer and said he has planned all along on not participating in training camp or the preseason.

Arenas, who signed a six-year, $111 million contract this summer, said he plans on returning to game action sometime in early December which would mean that he'd miss at least the season's first month. [...]

"I just had some floating debris in there that was slowing me down," said Arenas, who seemed to be in good spirits. "It was irritating the knee so we decided to go in there and clean it out. This should actually allow me to come back faster."

Why o' why do the NBA gods refuse to give us 82 games of a healthy Arenas/Caron Butler/Antawn Jamison Wizards' line-up? Why!?! What in the world did these gentlemen do in a previous life to upset the NBA gods so much? Did Caron kill a puppy?

They overpaid him and now he cant even start the season... This is just the beggining. He will never be the same, and he wasnt that great to begin with, and the wizards made a huge mistake paying him that much.

Will he ever be 'the MAN' in DC? Lets see...sulked because he wasn't chosen for the Olympic team, signed a fat contract, and is STILL rehabbing his knee!!!
Sounds like the Wizards get screwed this season, AGAIN!

That knee injury was worse than he wants to let on. I think we might've seen the best of Hibachi, sad to say...

no big problems with this at all. he will actually come back quicker and healthy from this instead of playing for a couple months and having to shut it down for the season. smart move

Are you serious these dudes are getting paid Millions upon Millions to sit on a bench and act hurt..I think we should ask the Wizrds fan what they did in a previous life to deseve bums on the team that can't get out the 1st round in the east and make 100's of millions for nothing,

they overpaid an injured man. does it really matter? no, because a lot of great players that are injury prone get paid big bucks like yao and tmac on the rockets. its part of the game unfortunately.

good thing he didn't sign with golden state, otherwise that would be a very expensive cheering section with him and monta watching for the first 2 months of the season.

Can we talk about some real news like OKC selling out season tickets? That would provide for some comments, huh? Still, Gil out. Poor Wiz. Sorry for you. But 'twan's going to help them out with 'ron. The east is weak anyways.

Btw, injury prone Mac eventually carries teams to first rounds. In the West. (I didn't say out of the first round though. You know why.) Compare Mac with Gil, just for some injuries? Nice one.

I'd love to see what Arenas, Jamison, and Butler would do together in the playoffs. I'm thinking mid 90's Bulls results.

Seriously, like how many games have the Wizards' Big 3 been on the court together, all at the same time? Like 10 over the past 2 seasons? Antawn Jamison sprains his ankle in mid-December and then Caron Butler tweaks his back in January. I don't think I've yet to see how well this team can actually play. I'm tired of hearing about DeShawn Stevenson lighting it up once every 7 games. At least they have a legit backup PG (Antonio Daniels).
