Ball Don't Lie - NBA

Right on Simmons' "Clippers Curse Comment" cue, rookie Blake Griffin(notes) may miss Tuesday's regular season opener after tweaking his knee in Friday's meaningless preseason game against the Hornets.

Griffin suffered the injury to his left knee after coming down off a massive dunk in the third quarter.

According to the L.A. Times, Griffin did not practice Sunday and is expected to be examined by team doctors on Monday. And knowing the Clippers' questionable medical staff, he'll likely miss the entire 2009-10 regular season after a team doctor accidentally blinds the kid with his pen flashlight.

UPDATE: Griffin may miss up to six weeks with a stress fracture of his left patella. Damn you, Clippers! Damn you to hell!

I KNEW something went wrong there the moment i saw that a few days ago. I cringed and wondered how there was no news about him hurting that knee after that play

The kid's definitely got energy, but needs to channel it a little better before he ends up like Amar'e.

Why the f*ck is Dunleavy playing this guy late in the 3rd quarter of a meaningless final preseason game? Does Dunslippy think these games count? Maybe it's the only way to finish with a better record than the Lakers.....I feel for you Blake.....

That's what you get for being a hot dog. Hey, stupid, a dunk is still only worth 2 points.

The real question, of course, is why anybody is knocking Amar'e? Just because Blake is athletically off the charts for someone his size (unmatched perhaps?) and plays a little differently than *yawn* Tim Duncan, doesn't mean that he shouldn't model his game after Amar'e (a 40-20 threat every night...). The game is being changed by these more athletic and agile big men, and Blake has an unbelievable skill set that combines sheer size with uncanny athleticism. Until he gets his feet wet in the NBA, it's his raw athleticism and "energy" that are going to carry him through the transition from standout college player (a la Kevin Durant) to NBA superstardom. Ask Greg Oden how the whole "7-footer who can use both hands" thing is working out...

I sure hope he is not one of those players that are injury-prone. Like his teammate Marcus Camby. Hope he can make the opener. go lakers/lakers rules

He hyper extended his knee. He will be out about 2 or 3 weeks. he will try to come back early. because he is a Clipper, he will miss the entire season. Thats one senerio. The other is, he's a Clipper and will never play the same again.......Sh8! Sh8! Sh8!

Mike Vick, yawn Tim Duncan? Really? Then you stand up for Amare. 40-20 doesn't mean jack when you ole the opposing guards for a layup every time down the floor. Amare talented. . . . . yes, a great baskeball player. . . . . no.

Bo Kimble, Benoit Benjamin, Reggie Williams, Mike Olowokandi, Shaun Livingston, Blake Griffin......the CURSE CONTINUES.......i've always said, Sterling should move out of LA, change the name of the team and it's team colors.......completely disassociate themselves from the Clipper franchise.....but I guess Sterling isn't superstitious like I am, he's just STUPID!

Clipper "curse"? - Not really, just another stupid hot rookie trying to impress his teammates. - Hey, briansez, me jealous of another stupid move by another hot dog? Ha! You make me laugh. I guess jumping up, slamming the ball for 2 points and coming down and tweaking a knee is intelligent? Apparently you and Blake need to take a clue from Duncan and learn how to protect and prolong a career by not stupidly hot dogging. If that is being "jealous" than so be it.
