BDL Hump Day Chat!

Sorry mate, but you've had it.

15 years was a good run, though. Drafted KG. Turned him into Al Jefferson(notes). Picked up a lot of 6-2 guys who like to shoot. Made a man out of Anthony Peeler. Made a millionaire out of William Avery. Coached, twice. GM'd, once.

Now you've nothing to do. Unless you want to swing by and chat, BDL-style. It's not really a "hump day" when you don't have a job, but you can give me your MLE any time, Mr. McHale. Write the check out to cash, please.

3 p.m., EDT. Click the jump.

I overheard Kevin McHale talking off the record immediately after his dismissal. He had this to say. "Practice? We talking about practice? Not the game.....not the game.....not the game that I work hard and long to destroy whatever decent team I have, but practice? Now how silly is that? I know KG was suppose to be the franchise of the team and I literally handed the Celtics a championship, but practice? When was I ever given a chance to practice being a GM? And because of me, Anthony Peeler is a man, not just a kid......and get this, he's not even 40. And finally, don't I even get some credit for being the only Celtic in 1988 to shake hands (unlike Sidney Crosby) with then (now Coach) Piston's guard Isiah Thompson and telling Isiah to 'beat L.A.'? I am who you thought I was and by firing me, you let yourself off the hook."

So I decided to give this "chat-room" one more try after telling myself I would never come to one again but apparently they haven't changed their ways. I'm not going to make a comment and wait 10 minutes just to see if it gets posted which by the time it does it's completely outdated and unrelated as to the current topic. I understand you want to monitor the flow of comments coming in and limiting spam but the way you handle it is completely impractical. Maybe try letting the chatroom flow and if someone keeps spamming the chat-room just kick and/or ban them instead of censoring everything that comes in

I wonder if it would make sense for him to try to be a "big man coach", like Patrick Ewing, except that he actually knows low post moves. The problem might be that he was too intuitive there as a player, and wouldn't really be able to relate to a lot of less offensively talented big men. It's fortunate that he got to work with Al Jefferson, but that ship has sailed now.

@2, you realize how many messages they get slammed with, right? No? Oh, well, it's a lot. And it's free. And I don't want to read a million retarded questions/comments about irrelevant crap, as I'm sure most others don't either. So be thankful KD et al brave the sh1theap most of us put them through to run these things and be happy with what you get.

Celtics are hoping New Orleans hires him so they can trade Cassell for CP.

one of the worst GM's of the past 10 years. Horribly bad. With the exception of the Garnett pick everything he did was bad. I mean how are you going to get you team sanctioned trying to get joe smith. joe smith! i can see a team getting real close to the tampering line with a kobe or a lebron but Joe Smith? I can only thing of one GM that was worse in professional sports and that's Matt Millen.
