Time for some second round action of our completely pointless, albeit oddly entertaining, BDL Bedlam Tournament. Thanks to your help, we've compiled a list of 64 things that you may or may not love about the NBA and seeded them into four regions. Today we'll unveil the first eight match-ups in the second round. Voting will remain open until late Tuesday night.
We start the second round off in the Kobe Region: No. 12 seed Jeff Van Gundy vs. No. 13 seed Andrei Kirilenko's once-a-year "deal." In the first round, JVG defeated Tim Duncan's (overrated?) bank shot, while AK upset Stan Van Gundy's mock turtlenecks. A second look at the nominees:
No. 12 Jeff Van Gundy: Former head coach Jeff Van Gundy joined ESPN in 2007, serving as an analyst alongside Mike Breen and Mark Jackson. JVG cracks decent jokes, isn't afraid to bust on players and, most importantly, brings insightful commentary to the table.
No. 13 Andrei Kirilenko's once-a-year deal: In 2006, AK's wife, former Russian songster Masha Lopatova, said that she allowed her husband one free groupie a year to bed. This is awesome for a number of reasons, mainly because it added a fun new twist to pictures like this.
So, who/what makes it through to the Sweet Sixteen? What do you love more? Vote or die.
