BDL Bedlam, Rd. 1: SVG's wardrobe vs. Kirilenko's 'deal'

As promised, today we start up our completely pointless, albeit oddly entertaining, BDL Bedlam Tournament. Thanks to your help, we've compiled a list of 64 things that you may or may not love about the NBA and seeded them into four different regions. We're unveiling all 32 first round match-ups over the course of this week, and voting will remain open until Sunday.

Up first, the Kobe Region starring No. 4 seed Stan Van Gundy's wardrobe (a personal favorite) vs. No. 13 seed Andrei Kirilenko's once-a-year "deal." A closer look at the nominees:

No. 4 Stan Van Gundy's wardrobe: Honestly, what look doesn't go with a killer mustache like that? Gray suit with gray turtleneck? Dashing. Black suit with black turtleneck? A classic. Blue suit with white turtleneck? So Miami Vice.

No. 13 Andrei Kirilenko's once-a-year deal: In 2006, Andrei Kirilenko's wife, former Russian songster Masha Lopatova, said that she allowed her husband one free groupie a year to bed. This is awesome for a number of reasons, mainly because it added a fun new twist to pictures like this.

    Drastic over- and under-seeding, respectively. (Although, maybe that's the point). To wit, SVG's wardrobe is far less bedlam-inducing than Sager's--and the neon-suited one is a #15 seed.

    There's nothing remarkable about Andrei's deal. Plenty of men who are allowed to swing; there aren't many men who can pull-off the Miami Vice look. Vote for Stan!

    SVG is a hot head but I like him as a coach. Masha is crazy in that she offered Ak to cheat on her one time year, and if she thinks all men cheat, then she might have a low opinion of men in general.

    Not only does he gets paid millions, has a hot wife but gets one free pass per year...some guys have all the luck.

    I think the committee needs to take a look at their seeding credentials. AK47's deal with his wife has to be one of the greatest marraige agreements I've ever heard. Imagine the vows at the wedding. "I'll love you forever. I'll love you when the rain falls, when the clouds darken, when you're banging that chick in Sacramento after only scoring 4 points on a 2-for-14 shooting night."
