All aboard the 'Greg Oden Express' ...

Bust a Bucket says the 'Greg Oden Express' is pulling out of the station: "It may not happen immediately Monday morning. It just might take a few days. But sooner, rather than later, the nation is going to take a look at Greg Oden's stats this past weekend and do a complete 180 on their Greg-Oden-is-Sam-Bowie-type of comments. I'm quite certain that tomorrow, the 'Greg Oden hype train' will depart once again, chugging up the hill with familiar sounds of 'G.O. is the savior ...', 'the Trailblazers are contenders ...', until it picks up speed with even more rhetoric associated with the 2007 draft's #1 pick." Meh. Just wait until Oden's first 20-15 game against the Heat.

    Oden is no good, too fragile, too slow, not even close to someone like Andris Biedrins who has speed, quickness etc. We'll see how they do against each other on tues.!
    Oden=hype, hype,hype
    Oden=bust,bust,bust
    I'll wager that oden will go the way of joe smith, slowly dissappearing as a #1 pick.

    #11, uh it took AB a good 4 years to turn into the beast that he is becoming now. In his first years he didnt even play. It wasnt until the team got Baron that he started to show signs. So let's not get carried away there with the partisanship. Oden is a work in progress but I stand by my belief that he will be a double double machine by the end of the season.

    #13... You must be confused. 12 points, 9.5 boards, 3.5 blocks in 24 minutes the last 2 games. He's basically already at your prediction. You don't think those numbers are going to go up as his cardio improves, he gradually regains explosiveness, and gets more comfortable on the court? Yes injuries are a concern, but those that say he doesn't have the abilities even when healthy are just flat wrong.

    Greg will be a 14-16pt, 10-12 RB 4 block a night guy THIS year, but his real value will be making opponents change their shot and their strategy. He is a very good passer and when he is double teamed, he will find Rudy, Brandon, Travis and the other great Blazer outside shooters.
