Ball Don't Lie - NBA

A day after the Draft ends, and I'm pretty shot. We'll have a post-Draft chat later today, and the obligatory team grading column that needs to be cut by a few trillion words, but my wrists (quite literally) need a break after six and a half hours of live blogging on Thursday.

I'd like to invite you to take a look at both sessions, one for the 1993 NBA Draft, and one for the 2008 version. Major thanks to all that took part.

In the meantime, I'm still a little gobsmacked after being introduced to the Lopez twins last night, especially Brook. His Napolean Dynamite-act was one thing ("This is BORING."), but not having any idea who the President/GM/coach of the New Jersey Nets are? Knowing he was mic'd up? Wowser. Have a look.

Thanks to Odenized and ESPN for the clip. We'll be back later, and the Draft chat is at 1 pm EDT.

Who cares if he doesnt know coach and GM. I'm sure he had a hundred things racing through his head, and the bottom line is the boy can play basketball.

These Lopez twins are just as soft as the Collins twins. They both are in the NBA just because of their height. They wouldn't have made crap if they were guard height. Both sets of twins are nothing to write home about....its all about the height. I want to jump through the tv and beat the crap out of these weak creepy freaks when they are out on the court "trying" to play. Those Collins twins act like stright Wussies.
These overconfident Lopez freaks remind you of that non playing creep Noah on the Bulls who cant play a lick either. Just tall lanky pale and no basketball skills at all.

Hey, they took one of the Collins twins, how bad can it be? At least they weren't desperate enough to have to draft Robin, like Phoenix was. Now that guy's got bust written all over him. The Suns were forced to take him because Shaq's over the hill and they have to try and stop Andrew Bynum. Amare certainly plays no D. So, they took a 7" stiff.

all these comments from people who think they know more about the game of basketball then the ones who are actually "playing" the game!! tsk, tsk.
i have watched the lopez twins play basketball since the 8th grade, and they have only gotten better the older they get. sure, they like to joke around and be a little silly, but let's remember they are only 20 years old, and have a lifetime ahead of them to grow up. good luck brooke & robin! it was awesome to watch last night as your whole lives changed. we hope to see you around home once in awhile.

He probably had his heart set on meeting being a part of Michael Jordan's organization. Anyone notice he seemed a little disappointed and/or worried when his name didn't get called for Charlotte?

The Lopez twins are goofy, awkward, dittzy, lame, corney, lanky, spineless and they act and look retarded TO ME. I have my opinion and so do you so don't tell me not to call those retarded corney looking MF's retarded looking. I don't care how young they are they are still goofy a$$ MF's who can't play in MY OPINION. They remind me of a Sam Bowie type corney non playing basketball player. Tall, pale, no heart just HEIGHT. If they weren't damned near 8 feet tall they wouldnt have even made it to the league. Soft pale lightskinned TALL SOFT PUNKS never amount to anything....oh one exception Tim Duncan is the only tall soft spineless, geeky creep who ever came in the league and did anything and even though he still doesn't get respected because he is SOFT just like the lopez PUNKS.

The really goofy one with the ugly hair-doo needs to MAN UP and cut that mangy looking crap and stop acting like a big creepy corn ball. I know the young guy (Kevin Durant) on the Seattle Sonics is young but he doesnt act goofy or arrogant like the creepy Lopez Retards and he is tall and CAN PLAY unlike the corn ball Lopez Twins. Just face it they are a JOKE and if it werent for the height they would be back in Cali being corney surf boys.

I watched Stanford play on several occasions. While the Lopez twins are not superstar material, Brook has a nice post up game and Robin can play d and rebound. And as Bill Russel once said about another very tall, but modestly talented seven footer, in the fourth quarter when all of the leapers are tired they will still be seven feet.

His voice sounds a bit like Steve Wilkos (Jerry Springer's former bodyguard tuned talk-show host) if you ask me. Still he's a funny and humble guy to watch on and off the court. Go NETS!!!!!

Did anyone see the Lopez's mom. Usually she's right in the thick of things during the game taking notes and passing them to the coach. Didb't anuone catch er act during the tourney? I heard she is going to be hired as the bench mom!
    P.S. They are terrible.

These Nets are going to get better, stronger, taller (Harris, Brook, Yi and CDR) and faster. Against the Heat (Haslem, Shawn Marion, Wade and Beasley) how they will defend each other - hard to imagine. In the 4th Qtr it could be all Nets.
