Ball Don't Lie - NBA

I don't like to bump down KD's preview, but this is something to keep an eye on. Tonight, the Billups-less Nuggets travel to Golden State to play the Warriors, and apparently, 'Melo has a little something special in store. The Denver Post, via Dime, reports: "At the Nuggets' shootaround, there was a post-election buzz. Carmelo Anthony smiled and said 'I'm going to try to score 44 tonight,' in honor of president-elect Barack Obama, who was elected Tuesday as America's 44th president." 44 points? Hell, I'd take a "Coolidge" or "Hoover", considering I have him on my fantasy team.

I'd be more impressed if he was "going to lead his team to a win."

Melo will not get 44 points unless he takes like 50 shots. lets get serious here. Unfortunately for the nugs, if he takes 50 shots they will probably lose. Also, should he get to 44 points, should he then just stop there? WOW this is dumb. Why doesn't he change his jersey number to 44!

this statement by melo just shows you that the nuggets will always suck. thank god that allen iverson got traded to a more defensive team.

How about leading your team to 44 wins?
Carmelo may end up only doing 44 shot attempts

It's a nice thought for 'Melo to try and honor Obama by scoring 44, but it would be better to honor him by staying out of trouble and be more of a team and community leader.

i think that he cannot do it against the warriors because carmelo is more of a low post threat now with A.I gone.. maybe later this year he can get a 44 point game, but not today.. i am hyped to see J.R Smith's new role as a shooter, got him in my fantasy lineup

u guys are looking to deep into this, he was obviously joking that was the point of the report mentioning he smiled and said it........#19 there's alot special about melo's game thats y he's an all star....#4 u think he averages 24pts a game cuz he shoots alot of shots how is that when he shoots jus as many shots as any go-to guy on any nba team n shoots above 45% which is very efficient compared to most go-to guys who play the perimeter although i feel he should post more n become a better rebounder, but u guys r jus hating I hope he drops 44 2nite jus 4 da haters

Why wouldnt he try to get 44 points every night. That would make more since. Or maybe he should make it easy for himself and try to score 2 points, dedicating that to the 2 people who actually give a crap as to how many points he gets for Obama Bidenladen.

Why doesn't Melo try to get 44 points every night instead of getting 44 once for a stupid dedication. Why not make it easy on himself and score 2 points, dedicating those to the 2 people who give a crap about his dedication to Obama Bidenladen.
