This week: Kahne has earned only one top-10 finish in nine starts at Talladega, but it was a second in the fall race of 2006. "I like racing at Talladega, but I hate wrecking there," said Kahne. "It's so easy to get caught up in somebody else's mess, but that's part of racing at Talladega. If you are not in one of the wrecks, it's fun running that close together for 500 miles."
Last week: After finishing 21st to drop to 14th in the point standings, Kahne said, "We just need more grip for our Dodge Charger. On a hot day like today, grip was everything. We just struggled trying to get the right balance on our car. We have to keep working on our cars to make them better."
Etc.: Kahne said winning at Talladega is "all about the last couple of laps -- getting in the right line with the right drivers behind you. You just never know who they're going to be, but you try to make the right guess and hope that it all works out."
