Labonte won the Brickyard 400 in 2000, and he has scored five top-10 finishes in his 14 starts at the 2.5-mile speedway. "This weekend really feels like the start of the second half of our season," said Labonte. "It actually began with the Coke Zero 400 at Daytona a couple of weeks ago, but the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard starts a stretch of 17 consecutive races. There isn't a better way to start the second half than win one of our biggest races of the year." Labonte finished 19th at Chicagoland to all but end his hopes of challenging for a spot in the Chase. He is 378 points out of the top 12 with seven races left to determine the 12 drivers who will make up this year's championship chase.
