This week: After a run of bad luck, Hamlin is glad to have a week off "so we can regroup and try to see if we can't get back on track." Hamlin does feel good about his chances of returning to the top 10 with Indianapolis and Pocono the next two races on the schedule. "They are two of our better tracks," he said.
Last week: Electrical problems proved very costly for Hamlin, as he finished 40th at Chicagoland to drop from seventh to 12th in the Sprint Cup standings. "We were bitten again, and we are still looking for the luck to turn around," a frustrated Hamlin said. "We had an electrical problem that was killing the car in the corners. Unfortunately we lost (four) laps fixing it, but we actually ran pretty well. I guess if there is a silver lining to tonight that would be it."
Etc.: In the last eight races, Hamlin has posted only two top-10 finishes, compared to five finishes of 24th or worse. "We have certainly run much better than our finishes show," Hamlin said. "We just can't seem to catch a break. We had a really good car at Chicagoland, but we spent most of the race four laps down."
